BlackBerry Q10 Review - How Well Does it Work in 2020?

This is my review of the BlackBerry Q10, and a look at how well it works in 2020. I put my SIM card in the BlackBerry Q10 and used it as my primary communication device for the last week or two, in tandem with my Android for required work-related apps that I needed to work-from-home. However, I thoroughly tested and used the Q10 and was able to load several android apps, get WhatsApp, Spotify, and many other ones like Facebook Messenger Lite.

I've been running my Q10 for the last 3 years purely as a business phone to receive and make calls. I've found it more robust than a lot of normal touch screen phones (I'm a mechanic) previous to this phone, I destroyed 3 phones in 1 year because I left the phones in my pocket whilst leaning over a car - straight up cracked the screen and board on those phones (Samsung, HTC, Apple). The only problem I had was last month, when BlackBerry server stopped connecting on my phone and I ended up having to reload the software which cured the problem (but I did loose all my newer contacts as I didn't realise it wasnt connecting for over a month) Now WhatsApp is supported since the update to OS10 so it's a more functional phone again! I'm happy With it. Just wish BlackBerry was still making handsets.

Have loved my Q10 since 2013, and it is my primary smartphone. I have a cheap Android for WhatsApp. I have 14, 673 photos on Flickr almost all taken on this phone, and I am very happy with the quality of the camera, and I have also taken loads of videos with it. I prefer IOS to Android, particularly the hub and the screen layout. I do have a laptop computer for Facebook (and many other functions), and prefer that to FaceBook on any phone. I don't plan to abandon the phone any time soon. One of the reasons I bought it was I lived a mile or so from QNX software and I like to support local industry.

I still use my black BB Q10 in 2020. When I bought it at the Verizon store, everyone was buying iPhones and other customers were shocked that I was getting a BlackBerry. The design is definitely unique with its signature look. I want to get a second BlackBerry as my daily driver and am thinking of Priv or the Key2. If the Passport had Android installed, I would consider that too. Passport has such a unique look and stands apart from all the smartphones nowadays. I hope another company steps in to keep BlackBerry going.

I just picked up a Q10 for £60 immaculate almost brand new, it’s like stepping back in time, but I only use it for calls, txts, WhatsApp, and browsing internet so does the job, works perfect
