BlackBerry Q10 Review Part 1

Aaron goes in-depth with the BlackBerry Q10, the QWERTYfied version of the Z10. Specs-wise, the Q10 offers a 1.5 GHz dual-core processor, 3.1-inch HD display, 8-megapixel camera with 1080p HD recording, 2,100 mAh battery, 4G LTE, and BlackBerry 10.

While the keyboard is absolutely fantastic and BlackBerry 10 is a nice refresh, the Q10 brings a very tired design back into the spotlight at a price point that is (in some cases) higher than the current industry heavyweights. In a marathon, you run to pass your competitors, not run alongside them, and despite the improvements, I'm concerned that this isn't going to appeal to those invested in Android and iOS. Can it win over buyers outside of existing (and often very loyal) BlackBerry users? Part 1 of 2.

Why did the horizontal slide out keyboard die? You get a full screen and a keyboard. It may be in the thick side but its great for businessmen.

I wanna see a 30 day challenge with this. I've never been so tech obsessed. I miss the hard keyboard berry. Best period in mobile phones was when all my friends had berries.

I miss physical keyboards, although I don't like to press down all the time. With touch you can just lazily type back with a soft touch to the screen.

How do you like the browser compared to android? Also how's the app market compared to Google play store?

will its a bad ass phone but this should make out like 5 or 6 months a go there waiting to long to bring it out i just went from the z10 to android i was a blackberry user 4 year straight but the q10 came out to late

I'm confused about who exactly asked for 16 or 32 cores? My S3 was blazing fast, and nearly a perfect phone and I saw no need to upgrade to S4 for a bump in the specs. I switched to BB10 because of the Hub and the keyboard. 95% of what I do on my phone is communication. Texts, emails, social networking, etc. This is the most brutally efficient communication device ever created...and it's not even close.

People bash blackberry for having android ported apps. Doesnt apple do the same when you jailbreak your phone for things you can do on android? The BB10 operationg system is amazing and i just picked up my Z10 today over the other competition. I switched from my android device because i was so sick of the platform, IOS was to boring and everyone have one. Windows phone was an option but this blackberry is so fresh and made me want it because no one else in my area has one
