Kawasaki ZH2 | First Ride Review

Owning a 2017 Kawasaki H2 Im very interested to see how Kawasaki new ZH2 compares to the original H2 supercharged hooligan. Wheels Motorcycles very kindly lent me their demonstrator for a week so I can find out! This is my first ride review.

Currently toying between the Tuono V4 Factory and the ZH2. I was very impressed with the ZH2 on a test ride this week, the performance is insane but VERY usable. Totally agree the bike can be ridden slowly without constantly egging you on to go fast. You only feel the ZH2 weight when maneuvering and I personally feel that the weight helps the ride on the often bumpy UK roads. Feels a well made bike and does everything to a good standard, the brakes are also very strong with great feel considering they are not the top spec Brembo's. The Tuono was very exciting to ride though and feels much more at home pushing on into the twisties. The noise is addictive for sure and the performance being much less (relatively) also makes you feel like you can get on top of it which is very rewarding - No chance on the ZH2! The thing that most puts me off the ZH2 is my intention to do the occasional track day, the suspension would not support the bike well enough when you are flat out on track IMO. The front headlight design is a close second but then who cares when you have a SC 1000cc between your legs..

I remember in 1982 when I had a Kawasaki 1100 B2 that had fuel injection, the fuel gauge was a series of blocks. I used to amuse myself by watching the blocks disappear quickly hairing around the countryside.

Sold my Tuono 1100 for 2021 zh2. No regrets. New Nitron R2 rear shock and BST carbon wheels this bike is a hoot on the twisties

For that money I think they possibly have a leading bike here against the others. Not keen on the styling though but like every new bike it takes a while 😂 I am so looking forward to the new 2021 Yamaha MT10 Turbo charged bike, that will be an eye opener but is it enough for me to swap for my SP 😏 let’s see 👍 great first ride LC
