This is amazing. I've never heard of a homebrew consol. I hope it succeeds. Thanks for the video, John!

This is a nice little console and it will be interesting to see what the future holds for it.
The price is going to put most people off though.

I took a look at the schematic. The build is actually massive, there's a very significant amount of work goes into just the soldering. I don't know anything about 3d printing, but with the huge amount of soldering that needs to be done I'm surprised it only costs 250. Anyone bitching about that price has either not seen the boards, or has no clue what it would take to populate them. Step 6 of the CPU board has you doing 18 DIP14 sockets. That's 252 solder joints. It's not even close to being done then, you still have far more than I can be bothered counting. Also, the other board is just as busy, hope you like doing it twice.

Get a grip, 250 makes me think there's almost zero profit on this. I would definitely pay for a kit. If I'm being honest I can't see it being more than a curiosity, but I love DIY homebrew stuff, and this seems very well thought out.

This is so cool to see. I remember when the creator was in the early stages a few years ago. I was chatting to him in a FB group. I love the idea of it. I'd love to see one in a decent shell and with nicer carts.

Really excited for this thing but a little expensive. I get it though, being that it was just made by one guy(?). Definitely getting since it's got games specifically made for the console. Hope the games come with a box and manual

Man. This is definitely not a console for the mainstream market. $250 and only has composite and no HDMI. Yeah the market will be very small for this thing. But it is an interesting item for sure.

Looove all of the art style, could be a nice gem

It would be silly to just buy one of these fully made, but I do see the appeal of building a console yourself.

I like the look of some of the games. Not sure about the 3D printed style plastic, so I'd use a Mega Drive controller instead for sure! But it does look very interesting!

How long until someone ports Doom to this thing?

The 2 Penguins game is literally Binary Land on the Famicom. They didn't even change the level.

This is cool, but what's the deal with those offputting color palettes?

Very cool! The graphics remind me of Atari 8-bit graphics. (The Atari 800xl is my all time favorite 8-bit computer.) I like that they have composite output for those who like to use crts.

"Two penguins" is clearly a rewrite of Binary Land by Hudson Soft.

They should come out with a flash cart where you can load fan made games on it and play on the console. I always thought it would be cool if they came out with a console where it has a keyboard that is open source to run text/graphic adventure games.

This is my kind of thing 😊 May build one if possible, or try write/convert a game.

Another great video brother! That 2 Penguins one is actually a port of an older rom I've played somewhere else. May have been on that AtGames collection. Neat looking animations on a couple of those, especially Ganymede!
