There are a couple makers out there staying true to medieval weapon proportions like Fabrice Cognot. From my perspective as a modern martial artist I want this idea to be taken even further though. Now that there is a revival of HEMA I think there should be some progress in the development of sword not in form or function, but materal wise. I don't see any makers going the high precision, high performance, and tight tolerance route.
