One-Handed Backhand Tips For Mastering 5 Tough Tennis Situations

The main goal is control of the ball first and you'll learn in what ways you can control the ball better when you have to:
- control direction and hit with accuracy
- hit higher arc balls with topspin
- control fast incoming balls
- control well your own attacking shots
- hit short cross court angled shots

I'll show you the most common mistakes for each of these situations, what's the right way to do it and what tip you need to keep in mind in order to execute the one-handed backhand correctly.

Thanks so much. I have seen so much video teaching how to do a single backhand. Some are totally crap using pro as example and the way they teach is not practical at all. You are spot on, we are social player and we have not went to such an intensive training and no way we can play just like them. By far you are the only one who teaches how how to handle different shot to the backhand whereas the rest are just teaching how to hit with single backhand. This help a lot. Thank You so much. Over-rotation: Exactly my problem. Yes! Shortening and slowing the stroke are key when high topspin. It is about control! Great instruction!

My 1HBH is pretty advanced, but just like other parts of my game, when something basic breaks down, the whole house of cards comes falling down. You’re the best coach for getting me back to basics to figure out what that Level 2 or 3 technique break down is causing my Level 4 or 5 to fail. Amazing coach, well done!!
