I'd say Olympics sites and this past year's WC. They served their purpose for those specific events but will never be used again.

the highway in hawaii does kinda end at nothing but after u get thru the mountains and before u reach the end of the highway there are a few beautiful and populated towns on the east coast of hawaii with beaches and malls and colleges so it still serves a purpose if you wanna explore around the island a bit more than just the main areas that are on the southwestern honolulu side. so the highway is not nearly as useless as you would think

That is not a CGI. The exterior is finished. Very little of the interior is finished. I disagree that it won't serve a purpose. It already serves it's purpose of propaganda. And may serve it very well in fact.

In my view the Hawaiian Interstate Highway was something of a joke. While some school children would not know that you can't drive to Hawaii from any other state, the state government officials did not want to miss out on their share of federal highway funding, hence an "interstate" highway that does not connect other states.

The hotel tower in North Korea is only complete on the exterior. It is completely unfinished on the inside. There is no plumbing, HVAC or electrical system in place. No elevators or escalators. There are no interior walls, only bare concrete structure.

There was an F1 circuit built in South Korea and it was intended that a city was going to be built on the land in and around the track but it never happened. The track held a couple of races and was actually quite good but the city never happened and the track ran out of money.

Fiat money economy requires massive public expenditures. You can do this by making war or massive "dig-hole-fill-it-up-again" projects. You can't simply give all that money to the commons, because that is inflationary ;-(
