Santa's Magic Panic Attack

My panic over this chart's Width and Height being labeled backwards.
123 stitch also has it labeled incorrectly on their website.

I would have had a panic attack too Pam! Glad it all worked out, phew! This is why I cut myself a generous 3-4 inch boarder, your fabric can never be too big!

oh my! i've never had a pattern where width and height were not specified, i can so imagine your panic! Glad it worked out though :) I had an issue a while back with uneven fabric, after that i stopped cutting my fabric up before i finish the piece, just in case, because i had already cut that fabric and now i can't use it until i find a project that will fit. Thanks for sharing!

Whew!! I'm so glad you had enough fabric!! I believe the charts in Cross Stitch Gold are height x width. I was a little confused when I started my English Country Kitchen...but then I realized it was switched from what I was used to.

What a nightmare! I'm glad it worked out. That's why I usually don't cut my fabric until I get to the side. I don't trust myself.

Glad you had extra fabric on all sides, that would have been a nightmare.

I just checked several of my patterns because I thought they were height by width and I discovered it depends on the publisher. The world of cross stitching mag patterns are height by width but are labelled eg. 30high x 54 wide. My online purchases seem to vary. I am yet to stitch a Mirabilia So even though you would at least expect consistency within a designer/ publisher I think we all need to double check this when cutting our fabric

I always go heights by width. It would have helped if it was labeled as such.

Patterns can be frustrating at times!!!!
When I printed out my color w symbols chart I'm finding the symbols are turned around or sideways or upside down on the chart as compared to the symbol on the pattern!!!! The color of the symbol is sometimes keeping me from using the wrong floss. This is on my Chinese Garden mandala. But it's such a beautiful pattern. 😄😄

That would have sucked! Even if they put h and w beside the measurements it would be better.
