Unzip Server

Save to desktop

Right Click the "Run_DS" Batchfile and edit how you like (name, seed, size)

Double Click to run the Batchfile - this can take a few minutes

Once complete type ownerid STEAMID

Type: writecfg this will save any changes you made

Open Rust and open console with F1

Really dumbfounds me as to why they don't have a private server feature. Would increase the game's appeal by leaps and bounds. Casual gamers who enjoy single player survivor games would love it and you could even play survival with your friends. Only major change would be to have more AI roaming the map and maybe have the bradley going along the road.

I see private servers as something with zero downsides to it especially for casuals who want to have fun doing RP/PvE without any toxic players or PvP.

Nice video, setting up a local server like this still works.
Now, I don´t play Rust 24/7 and when I´m not playing I shutdown the server, right?!
So how do I launch the server without having to run the whole Batch code again that goes trough files validation twice and takes ages to launch?
Must be a better way to Start the server faster. Could you please share how?

Does this reset itself? I played for 5 days using your instructions, then today I was dumped out on the shore, saying I was killed by a polar bear. I went to my base and it was completely gone.

This is so awesome, I appreciate it. One question though, how can I re-enter my game save once I've exited? Do I have to rerun the script? Or do I just open rust and F1 local Host again and it will automatically take me to my game?
