Thank you from a retired US Army Nurse. Now living in Ireland, there are almost 1000 Ukrainian refugees in my town of 6000 (Westport Co. Mayo). My wrinkled age spotted hands are busy. They ask why are you giving us this? Your people are fighting for democracy I tell them. And you are preserving your women and children here. My efforts are to keep you in hope. Then I tear up. They send pictures of their children baking cookies in my kitchen to men and one mother I know in uniform. The war is very personal when your kitchen is filled with Ukrainian refugees.

Hello from Moldova!
I think there are some more reasons why Moldova government may hesitate to give the permission:
1. Russia may launch some rocket attacks on Chisinau as a revenge (and we don't have any air defence)
2. If Transnistria joins now the Moldova, with all the indoctrinated by russia population, this may lead to a pro-russian government after next elections next year
Hope they will come with some solutions anyway. That ghost region must not exist anymore, it's a threat to everyone in the region

Jake I drove to Warren Michigan today (N of Detroit) to listen to this Ukraine Soldier that fought to defend Mariupol they ended up in that steel plant and he along with 2, 439 had to surrender to Russians and taken prisoner. What a amazing fella we hugged, saluted and then he signed my Ukraine flag for me. What a day!! :)

For many years USSR and then russia settled russians in Crimea, Tpansnistria, Donbass region for purpose of russification. The same process was happenning in all ex-soviet republics. Now russia wants to 'deliberate' them from national government, but in fact russia wants to take back the ex-soviet republics.

Taiwan was never ruled by the mainland until 1683, when the Manchu Qing who conquered China invaded Taiwan to subdue Ming loyalists who had set themselves up on the island. But the Qing never really did much on the island and lost it to Japan in 1895.

For several thousand years of Chinese history, Taiwan was only under jurisdiction from a mainland government for 217 years. That hardly makes Taiwan an integral part of China.
