Testing Youtuber recipe books would be extremely on brand for this channel, honestly a no-brainer.

2:29 I'm kinda getting invested in the whole "sister and her boyfriend" and "the annoying roommate" lores

In today's comments: People realize that virtually every culture has a rice pudding dish. Who knew that overcooked rice was so easy to discover

"Sweet rice"
over here in sweden, a staple for a long time around christmas and the colder months of the year we do "rice porridge", which is often served sweet- either topped with cinnamon and sugar, or with a berry-syrup-sauce.
we do call it rice-grain porridge, or also "tomegröt", or santa porridge,
in old tradition, the small gnomes (or tomtar) were given a bowl of hot porridge with melted butter on top of it as a reward during wintertime, for their good work done around the farms :>
(we do not usually do the butter-thing on the porridge anymore)

we also have "risifrutti", which is a rice pudding with sweet jam on the side, bought in small containers at the store and usually used as a snack or cold meal for kids.

I love that he laughs at his own jokes, really amplifies the funny factor from a 6/10 to a 9/10 from delivery and laughing at his own jokes alone LOL

Rice pudding is very popular in central Europe. Like VERY popular. Working class pudding basically. It's even sold pre-packaged in supermarkets everywhere, just like regular pudding.

The sweet rice dish at the end is called *Kheer*. I don't like mine hot either. I love it cold, on a hot summer night. Lovely content as always. ❤

Thank you for trying to do the mushroom rice! I saw that video and thought it looked delicious but also wasn't curious enough to go out and buy a cookbook to get the recipe, so you you for giving us an approachable version!

When making fried rice, don't salt the vegetables during the cooking. Don't know if you did or didn't, just giving a tip for the others. If you salt too early, the veggies get mushy. If you want a little snap to them, high heat and no salt. Salt at the end after adding the soy sauce. Also, cornstarch or potato starch before refrigerating over night rice will prevent clumping and create extra crispy bits on the rice. If you use cornstarch, undercook the rice a tiny bit and let it rehydrate with the cooking.

You should test other YouTubers recipes, but only allow yourself to read it once. So that your “make stuff up as I go” motif can continue depending on how well your brain works that day 😁

i live in nashville, go to monell's in germantown for classic southern food (served family style, fried chicken available at every meal every day, it is SO good). for hot chicken: if you want conventional, hattie b's is obviously the most well-known (if you want an easier experience go to the one on 8th ave versus the broadway/music row locations). if you want true hot chicken go to prince's. if you want genuinely spicy hot chicken go to bolton's and trust them when they say mild or medium

In Germany we have something like the last one called "Milchreis", its rice cooked in milk, topped with cimminiminin and sugar or some sort of applesauce (Apfelmus)
