How I Knit 1x1 Rib Faster as a Continental Knitter

Welcome to The Blue Mouse Knits! In this video I will be demonstrating how I knit 1x1 rib faster as a continental knitter, this is more of an example vs a traditional tutorial. You may already be familiar with this method, or use it yourself, but just in case you haven't seen it before I think this method is great for anything involving alternating knits and purls often. I not only find this method faster, but it also gives me less wrist pain and feels more enjoyable to knit for longer periods of time.

Hope you enjoy the video, thanks for watching!

Thank you so much for an easy and comprehensive demonstration. I always hated knitting, but then discovered Continental knitting a few months ago and am absolutely loving it! Plus it grows so much faster than the English knitting style.
Thanks again 😊

I want to say thank you so much for this video. This has totally changed the way I purl, and now purling couldn’t be any easier for me!

This is how I do it and I never realized it was special 😂 I cannot throw, it’s waaaay too much movement for me. Great video I hope it helps folks who are anti purl 😂

I do it this way when like your demo, I have a lot of knitting on the needle, I feel I knit on top of my work this way. When I’ve just cast on I have to be careful and I’m not on top of the knitting so I have to pull more.

recently switched to this style of knitting after being introduced by a friend but have trouble scooting up my stitches on the left side when it's already being so preoccupied doing all the tensioning, moving the working yarn, etc! any tips, or do I just have to get better w/practice?

Did it feel awkward when you first learned to do it? I've tried continental and I can't seem to get it.
