Welcome to my channel.
Today I will be showing you how to knit rib stitch for a 1 x 1 rib stitch pattern using three different needles: straight knitting needles for flat knitting; circular needles and double pointed needles to work in the round.

The rib stitch is a textured vertical stripe pattern and is created by alternating knit and purl stitches in the same row, then knitting the same stitches in the next row. This forms columns of knit and purl stitches.
This pattern can be used to make cuffs on sweaters and socks as well as hat brims. It’s used on neck collars, as well as the main pattern for designs such as sweaters and blankets.
This pattern is knit by casting on an even number of stitches and then begin each row with a knit stitch and next a purl stitch:
1 x 1 Rib Pattern:
Every Row: Knit 1 stitch, Purl 1 stitch, repeat
So let’s begin.

I hope this tutorial will help you on your next project that involves 1 x 1 ribbing. It’s a very nice rhythmic pattern to knit. Let me know in the comments what you will be knitting with this pattern. And if this video has helped you, please give it a thumbs up and don’t forget to subscribe to help me grow my channel. And thanks!
