Pet stores are notorious for poor aquatic maintenance. These are live animals and deserve good care! I rescued a sat water damsel that was almost dead in the bottom of a filthy tank many years ago. He is quite feisty as is their nature. So he lives in a 30 gallon aquarium by himself. He has quite the personality and plays with my cats who come up to spend time with him and absolutely loves the laser pointer!!! He chases it like a mad hatter😂😂😂. He is now over 20 years old and still going strong. His name is Aphrodite😂. I think he still has a-lot of good years left in him❤. Thanks for seeing the potential in your little Rescue❤❤❤❤

My beta was apart of our family like our cats are. His name was Spicey. When he passed from old age, we all gathered around the tank and watched him take his last breath and then I put his body in a silk lined ring box. We placed little flowers on his body and then buried him. He had a cool personality and he loved to interact with us so we grew very attached to him. It was a sad day when he left us.

I love this. I bought the grey betta too. He was huge and couldn't straighten out in the cup. I didn't think he would live long but, I couldn't leave him there. As soon as I put him in a slightly larger tank he turned blue and started swimming around. He looked so happy so the next day I moved him to a bigger space and later a bigger one until he was in a 10 gallon habitat will plants and hiding spots etc. He turned this beautiful intense dark blue with red stripes on his fins. Nemo was stunning and friendly and lived for another 8 years. Coolest fish I've ever known.

Bettas actually have a lot of character. All of mine would interact with me in some way or another, with or without treat incentives. Most of them would chase my laser pointer around the tank. One would let me pet him. I first realized that they needed play when my second Betta ever would swim up to the surface of the water and ‘ride’ the current from the water pouring out of the tank filter, almost all the way down. Then he’d swim back up and directly into the waterfall again, and again. He was funny and adorable. I loved all of my fishes!

He’s so cute. Glad she saved him. I’ve had some fish before, n they can be very responsive like any pet. Fish have feelings n are people too:)
