There are multiple mysteries involved in this! What do you mean by Jordan? What do you mean by Peterson? What do you mean by educating? What do you mean by well? What do you mean by being? All of this matters if you want to unravel the meta narrative surrounding us all in the never ending story of Cain and Abel. It’s never truly started and it’s never truly ended. It’s happening just as much as it is today as it was when it was first uttered!

Also, if you are a smoker, the only way to quit is to have a spiritual experience, which is evidence of that which cannot be defined because it was always never not true.

Ok. I’m done being hyperbolic, but this is genuinely what listening to Peterson feels like to me 🤷‍♂️

Probably the most likeable of the four especially for those who disagree with him.

Harris - a good human being
Peterson - ???? No idea.

Damn, this dude is smart. Even if I don't agree with him on everything, it's clear he is concise, specific, intelligent and deep in his consideration of facts.

In the UK there is one SUPERB piece of legislation called Care Act 2014 that defines wellbeing. The fact that everybody pisses on it it’s a separate matter. Start with that. But no. Instead we have professionals who don’t give a shit about legislation but faint with admiration when they watch online all morons being philosophically pedantic about lofty matters.

The problem is that Sam takes his axioms for well being and good as not needing to be proven to be universal. I’m no Christian, but the blindness on this is pretty stark.

Peterson has been more contentious about well-being in more recent debates, and I wonder if that's a reaction to having something like this pointed out by Harris. I vaguely recall that he fights against it here somewhat, but he outright displays in his conversation with Dillahunty that he doesn't understand the idea and doesn't want to understand it, he responds to it like it's a threat to his worldview. It's hard for me to imagine a worldview threatened by the idea of well-being, but that's Peterson, at his core he believes in a sort of elitism where he is an elite and wronging him is a sin but he is allowed to wrong anybody he considers to be "lesser". So he's threatened by an idea that he could be called bad for detracting from somebody else's well being, he needs the world to be constructed in such a way that he can be inherently right and others can be labeled wrong and then dismissed.

How about this. Wellbeing would be, no more treating adults like children with laws. Treat people like individuals with individual circumstances and needs. Getting rid of benches because too many homeless people. The world is pure evil in how it legislates. Why not create a task force to find out what the homeless needs? They do not want to be in our world, so make them one.

Not everyone wants wellbeing for others. That's for sure. What do you do with them when they start causing problems? Which they will do.
