Your template has the perfect spacing for the tall wall and I’ve found it useful for this purpose. I build my tall walls slightly differently. My technique is tall 1x1 towers that are close but not connected. I’d guess your technique is more stable if you want to go really high, like 16+ layers.

I like this wall because it’s so fast and the way the topple centres on a middle layer gives a forward/backward contrast between layers.

I think the main reason you can’t trigger this with a single domino (even with the ascending height of your technique) is that vertical dominoes don’t produce enough torque to keep the chain reaction going. What makes this structure work is the lines in the odd level which are being toppled essentially as ordinary domino lines.

I have messed up tall walls so many times... I couldn't imagine this weak structure accidentally sabotage everything in my setups... Anyways... Can you please teach us how to build the turtle technique field? That would be very nice if it is requested... Keep up with the tutorials Lily J. Hevesh!
