My father used to say, "Time heals all wounds."
Lovely man, terrible paramedic.

Love my dad. He did amazing job raising me. Dont have any wounds with him. Just wish he didnt live so far so we could visit more. Seeing him next week though and we text about every day.

Yep my dad never had a dad he screwed up with a lot of things with me but he taught me to be a man nonetheless maybe he should’ve been softer sometimes maybe sacrificed more of his time and happiness and more of a teacher other times but he did his best and he loves me and that’s a lot more than what other dads do and did. I grew up and learned he was human and deserves grace like my Heavenly Father taught me because he was just like me at one point which meant he was confused scared and didn’t know things imagine all that but with a son and daughter. I say he did Good.

Once I started my personal walk with Jesus Christ as a young man, that's when I started to see my dad through the eyes of a believer. He's a wonderful dad, even to this day. He loved me, he corrected me out of love, he raised me to be a man. I had the honor of helping lead my dad to Christ. I wasn't abused, neither one of us were perfect, yet here we are brothers in Christ. It's easy to destroy someone, especially when they deserve it, but it's much better to start in a place of forgiveness, a place of mercy and honor the dad God gave you.

When you have The Father in your life, you have that ultimate example of what love is and how far you should go for your children.

My kids have told me they think I’m a great dad. I tried and largely succeeded. I think I could have done better. But as a Grandfather, I have an opportunity to do over and get it right-er

My birth father has no spoken to me in decades, no idea why. My step dad is an angry rager and narcissist who I do my best to avoid. God is my father 100%. Wrongo, not all men are the same or trying to do their best. Some are just plain evil and stupid.

Side bit but will John have copies of his book available for purchase at G.O.A.L.S.? I saw on the schedule he's doing a book signing. Wanted to get a physical copy but after a belt and sun shield I was tapped for this check 😅

What about dads who were tragically taken from the earth, how the children have to move on without any example to no fault

I had a good father but I know people that had dads that are evil and dangerous and selfish, and drug / drunks and physically / mentally abusive, and there was never any "good" experiences for their children growing up.😱😭🥺

Only thing I disagree with is every dad try’s their best with what they have. My dad tried to have me aborted and left when I was born. God is my father and he will either bless me with the ability to raise children and be the father I never got or the bloodline of failed men from my family will die with me.

My father was possibly demonically possessed. He went to attack my mom once, and she rebuked him in the name of Jesus. He couldn't touch her after that. All he could do was shake with rage.

It’s a nice sentiment! No, you don’t have to have been raised with a father to be a good father. And, the vast majority of humanity isn’t Christian, and they’re able to be good fathers, too. So, I’m not so sure about that second point.

But, yeah. It’s important to try and be a good person, and if you’re a father to try and be a good father for your kid(s).

When you become a parent, you realize your parents had no idea what they were doing and just trying to keep things together. I never had a mom, she was just the whore i rode in, my dad wasnt really around. However, i did have good grandparents. However, as i grew up, i realized you need to suck it up, ruck on, and dont be a PAB towards your wife and kids regardless of your past.
