How To Install Ring & Pinion Gears in a Jeep Wrangler JK

Bob and Tommy from G2 Gears stopped by to show us what's involved in properly setting up new ring and pinion gears. The job requires some specialized tools and attention to some very tight tolerances. This particular Jeep is a 2016 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon with Dana 44 front and rear axles. The process is essentially the same, with some minor differences, on other Jeep axles.

**We recommend you take your Jeep to a professional mechanic to have new gears installed to ensure the job is done correctly.

Not much of a how to. More like watch us film parts of a re-gear but not actually show you how to do it.

Kind of an overview didn't see you crush the sleeve did you re-use the old one?

Disappointing no mention of putting the locker sensor back in. That needs done before carrier is in place and held extended while carrier is put in place.

Great video as always! Could you tell me if there are any differences or extra costs associated to doing this work on diffs equipped with Lockers (as in the Rubicon)? Or is it the same procedure?
