This is how I press my shirts. My tailor's ham makes it much easier to get the shoulders nice and flat.

What else? Well...
Use diluted vinegar and dampen the shirt, let it sit to soak in then a hot iron. Steam is your friend!
The padding on the ironing board is there to let the buttons sink in so the placket is flat when ironing from the inside.(button side down)
Also the interfacing is important. If it wrinkles the shirt, it's the wrong interfacing or was improperly attached during shirt construction. Proper interfacing keeps the wrinkles off the shirt, shouldn't create wrinkles. 😊

Well my ironing tricks is I button up the shirt on interval buttons starting from the color. I straighten the shirt on an ironing board. Then depending on the shirt material I set the iron to the required heat point. Then I remove the crises

My choice is the body before sleeves i find this allows for better alignment when ironing the complicated curves and pleats of the sleeves... ironing the body before usually doesn't create problematic wrinkles when the shirt is hung right away and buttoned (the top two then a few below) wrinkles usually will relax out..
Allowing the fabric to absorb the water for 4+ minutes will make for a better press too.. I never use starch it's just bad in my opinion..
Another idea might be to hang the shirt allow the body of the shirt to cool and fabric relax a little; then iron sleeves which is at times possible to do while on a hanger... depending on the hanger...
I finally learned to worry less about wrinkles and enjoy more of life..
But a nicely pressed shirt at times is a joy as well..

Best Buy for me was buying a sleeve iron board. Super useful for tight spaces. Also with shoulder I just round edge of the board use allows me get the collar at the same time. ( I mostly wear loop collars)

My tip is buy non iron shirts 😅 but really i like to fold my collar and press it as well. Starch also makes clothes last longer

This is my ironing order.
1. Collar, on the side that will be seen when worth.
2. Back placket if there is one.
3. Sleeves; flat on table with seam toward me, pressing in the pleats, opening the cuff and ironing the out side.
4. Left front on the inside
5. Back on the inside
6. Right front on the inside.

I use a hot iron, steam and extra shots of water if needed.

Is there a difference between ironing and pressing during the sewing process?

Not a tip, but could you do a waistband short? and a vid on button flys?
