The boy who played Jeremy in the video died in a surfing accident in Hawaii several years ago. When Peal Jam found out, they paid for and attended his funeral.

The line " The boy was something moma wouldn't wear" like he wasn't her style is brilliant song writing.

The Shock on your faces were classic and was almost the same look my friends and i had on our faces when we saw this video in a dance club...we had known about this kid that blew his brains out in front of the classroom....on the news everywhere....however Pearl Jam wanted to send a message about Bullying and manic depression and mental issues. Great song! Great Band! Great video!

Jeremy Wade Dell. True story of a middle school kid who was bullied and outcast to the point he killed himself in front of his English class.
"Try to erase this from the blackboard" is a bone chilling line.

"64° and cloudy....an affluent neighborhood".

The headline shown in the beginning were clips from the newspaper that day. Shows how this is a crisis not just confined to inner city, lower class neighborhoods. And how our actions can take a normal winters day and turn it into tragedy

As a younger kid I had an older friend who loved Pearl Jam and he introduced me to them and I've loved them ever since.

This is one of the best reactions I’ve ever seen for this song. Thanks. You two are truly incredible.

These reaction videos are clear examples that it is interesting to pay attention to what you hear, the lyrics and what you watch.
Most of these videos only shock the person at the end, but the entire lyrics are a possible omen.

Best music video ever. The reactions at the end capture the brilliance of it. Sends a lasting message worth remembering

Great reaction love pearl jam, it’s sad that songs like this were around in the 90s and 30 years later the problem seems to be worse than ever with social media giving people a screen to hide behind. You guys are great 👍

Shocking. Pearl Jam had the guts to take on this topic. ✌️

Eddie is an ICONIC FRONTMAN. Mike McCready and Jeff Ament and Stone Gossard are guitar legends. ✌️

I feel this song every time I hear it. I live that life for years. Finally walked away from all of it. Great song.

I'll be 50 in a couple of months and i still vividly remember a boy from 8th grade, JB, who was bullied at school and home. I was a foster kid with my own private problems and it took me a long time to find my voice so i only watched. Some other boy took a poo in JB's textbook and smashed it in closing up the book and leaving it for JB to find. I was there when he found it, he screamed and scraoed his nails down his shaved head and gaunt face. We never saw JB at school again. I still think of him all these years later. Be kind

I remember this it happened down in Richardson Texas. Jeremy Delle Wade was more or less a lost soul, he was not wicked as in the song. Please read his story, it's a tail of bullying, being misunderstood. I can tell you exactly what the class room looked like, and the aftermath. I was not a student, but I knew the classroom. R.I.P. Jeremy.
