Batman The Animated Series really made you question Gotham’s economy. Like, how do people afford to live in a city where every other day a supervillain destroys half the infrastructure? Maybe Wayne Enterprises should focus less on gadgets and more on affordable housing.

I love that this version of Batman actually shows compassion towards his villains. Babydoll is the best and most known example of this, but characters like Harley Quinn, Mr Freeze and Clayface (mainly in his debut two-parter) are also examples of Bruce showing his compassion and wanting to actually help instead of just fight and arrest his villains. The show makes it clear Batman isn't just some guy who fights criminals, he's a protecter who does everything in his power to save people, even some of Gotham's most wicked, and I love that.

Batman the animated series is most definitely the best Batman show ever, and I'd bet always will be the best. It redefined the superhero genre with its amazing storytelling and animation, and set a high standard for future superhero cartoons.
It could be silly and lighthearted, but it also wasn't afraid to get dark and mature, which is why it appeals so well to both kids and adults alike.
It also definitely has some of the best interpretations of Batman's cast, including (in my opinion) Batman/Bruce Wayne himself. After all, I don't think any Batman actor will be as iconic as Kevin Conroy, and that sentiment applies to most of the characters, as they're the voices I hear when reading Batman comics.
It's honestly just a masterpiece, and that isn't a word I use often when talking about shows or movies. It's definitely one of my favourite superhero pieces of media ever, after all I am a sucker for dark stories with deep emotional and complex themes in them :)
