Packing for trips – especially to fashion-forward destinations such as London and Paris – can seem daunting if you only plan to bring a carry-on sized bag. Today, I am excited to share some helpful tips for packing light that I have learned from many trips abroad in recent years.

I am thrilled to introduce a new video series over the next few weeks that I shot during my recent trip to Paris and London. In the videos, I will share how I packed my liquids, makeup, and clothing into my Briggs and Riley international carry-on size suitcase and matching tote bag (which I use as my personal item).

You can use your aquaphor as eyebrow gel, mascara comes in MUCH smaller containers, just FYI for those newbies reading the comments. The product in the tiny pots with the bulky tops can be put into slimmer pots. Consider solid perfume, lotion, shampoo bars, and toothpaste pellets or powder.

That's alot of product in a 1 quart bag. LOVE IT!!!! I'm not worried about what I'm packing for only 3 days now. I now know my jars and tubes will fit!!

Wow you fit so much stuff in your bag! Have you considered also using contact lens cases (you can buy them on amazing like 4 for £3) and using that for your mosquito cream etc. I am going to use one side for an oil cleansing balm and one side for a foam cleanser. For another one side will be a foot repair cream and one side will be a foot cream. So compact!

This video is amazing! Very impressed with how much you were able to fit in one bag! Contact cases are amazing for when you need less than 1 ounce of a cream/paste, etc.

I would recommend finding (or asking for them from a cosmetics counter) tiny spatulas that you can use to get your foundation out of a little travel sized pot (like the ones you are using). This keeps your fingers out of it, and keeps it clean! Also, for those things you don't use all the time (like the serum that you say you don't use often), I would recommend contact lens cases. They hold enough for about a week's worth. The small sprayers from the Container store are brilliant! I use them for facial mist. I'm surprised you had as many glosses - and I never take nail polish. You can usually shop for anything you may have forgotten in a local drug store in the travel aisle! I have also gone to a cosmetics counter in a large store, and asked for samples of foundation, etc. to use while I'm away!

Am curious how packing a liquids bag would be different, for different weather and social climates? Specifically, I'm thinking about the tropics and resorts right you've been to a number of places in your travels, how might your advice differ?
