I was VERY impressed with this budget wheel I bought on Amazon. It's sleek design and 3 sturdy pipe legs feels very durable. I did not think the foot pedal felt as durable, but my 8 year old son (who doesn't weigh very much) prefers it to our other pedals because it is easy to adjust speeds. I also didn't find the LCD panel helpful. But this wheel DOES fit the Giffin Grip is you think you might be getting into production pottery and at around $200 it's hard to beat the price.

This budget pottery wheel has many look-alikes on Amazon. I think this is because multiple companies are buying the same product from one or a few factories. Then, they brand it with their unique trademark.

This is the second cheapest wheel I've reviewed to date and I think it is the one I would choose IF I thought I might be getting into production - making a LOT of mugs, cups and bowls and therefore having a need to center quickly with a Giffin Grip.

Couldn't I also use the griffin grip on the orange one if the tray was removable, I saw one like the one to your right, my left lol. I need a good, working unit as I plan to use it often. I do like the digital one only so that you don't have to keep pressing the foot thing or switch all the time. I like the clay boys but can't afford a new one.

I found one that looks exactly the same. It's called "Vevor 350w Pottery Wheel Machine 25cm Ceramic Art Craft Work Lcd Control Grey". So it looks the same, but I read some bad reviews about it on Amazon. That just don't seem like it's the same as yours. About a loud sound but this one doesn't seem loud at all? What I find attractive about yours is that it can have quite some resistance for a cheaper pottery wheel. Is that power in the 350W? How much W is yours, do you know? Do you think that all of those who lookalike are around the same? I'm searching for one that sends to The Netherlands :)

Thanks for the reviews! Could you comment on the size of the wheel head? I was wondering whether 25 cm is limiting. (I found similar machines on Amazon with 36cm wheel heads, for another about $150.)

I am trying to imagine what it is like to center on a 6" square bat. It seems to me that my hands, which are normally in contact with the bat during centering, would be getting chopped by the edges of the bat all the time. How has this worked with you?

Hey, I have a question: Why DO pottery wheels always spin counter-clockwise? BTW it's a shame that no one manufactures a well built portable potter's wheel. After all, what if it's a GORGEOUS day outside and one wants to throw pottery in a beautiful park, or something?
