Thank you SO much for doing this review. I just started getting into pottery this past spring as a way to help with anxiety and PTSD after going through some tough personal stuff. I find it is so grounding and endlessly creative. I learn so much about myself while at the wheel. I have taken two classes, and I am already trying to get a wheel for our garage. Your videos have helped me learn so much. I am recycling clay as I type this. I have mastered (that word is used loosely) the cylinder and mug, and I am hoping to move into BOWLS! Yahoo! That's my next frontier. And maybe a tea pot some day. Thanks so much for making pottery accessible, it has helped me to stay calm through health issues and create beauty instead of anxiety!

I throw on a Brent at the Art Studio where I'm taking lessons. I wasn't financially able to buy one so I did buy a $160 Amazon wheel. It's like driving a old used car, it has it's quirks and it sometimes does weird things and it can't move too fast but it gets the job done! I think it has actually made me a better potter because I have to learn to compensate and work around the kinks that it throws at me. I've thrown mugs, bowls and vases on that $160 wheel. I'm saving up to upgrade later this year to a Brent but I will always have soft spot for my old clunker.

I have this wheel! I'm just a hobbyist and still learning. I use bed risers to bring the height up. Works perfectly!

FYI: I went to Vevor's site - between this discount, the free shipping, the site discount for registering... this costs just under $100 US. Thought that was worth sharing. Good luck!

EDIT: the free shipping in the US brought it to me in two days! 😊

I have this same wheel!! I have had it for over a year now and have had zero problems! The height is definitely weird and the pedal sucks, but i religiously use the touch screen and I have the wheel on a short table so i can still sit while i throw. Definitely worth it, especially for the price! <3

This is amazing!! I'm a mental health therapist who's always looking to incorporate art into my sessions and the therapeutic value of throwing clay is phenomenal! I would use this wheel in my sessions with clients! I would be so excited to see what they end up making!!

I homeschool my grandchildren, ages 7 and 10. They follow a curriculum and then in addition I teach other fun classes. I wanted to get started in pottery as their art class. The more I expose them to, the easier it will be for them to find their "thing" they love in life. I would love to receive the wheel

You cannot imagine how thankful I am for your videos. I live in Germany as well and pottered years and years only with air dry clay, because I couldn't find a YouTube channel adressing what I needed (specifically for my country). Now I'm diving into the "real clay" world and I reaaally need a lot of tips. So, thank you for that!!! I'm really looking forward to purchasing my own, first wheel to start working on some mugs (I really love mugs!) and bowls, vases and some plates (mainly for myself hahah, but also for my Etsy Shop. So I'd be really happy to win the wheel, but I'm happy either way because I found your channel. Thank you :)

This is amazing! I had no idea there were such affordable and compact wheels available. I'm returning to pottery after a 10-year hiatus and would really enjoy practicing at home, especially on my cylinders and creating a series of dishes. Thank you!

My sister and I have been talking for years about wanting to start doing pottery but the price of getting started has made it tough. So happy to have your honest review of something so affordable.! I am addicted to bowls and pitchers so that is what I would start with, for sure! :). My daughter and I did a little 3 hour class where we threw our own small bowl and it was so much more difficult than you (and others) make it look! Can't wait to get started!

Thanks for donating this wheel to one of us! I appreciate your honesty in reviewing it. Like a few others who have commented, I've been largely hand building so far. My wheel skills are super rusty and it's a bit embarrassing practicing in the studio I belong to. I'd like to master the fundamentals and create the usual fare of bowls and mugs, as well as closed forms.

Hi Mia...I've been doing ceramics for less than a year and dream of getting a wheel and kiln of my own. At the moment I use the wheel that belongs to my teacher once a week. I love making useful holders etc. At the moment I'm working on decorated bowls with holey covers to burn mosquito repellent coils.

I’ve been thinking about buying my first wheel for a while, so it’s a perfect coincidence 😊 I’m most exited to throw many cute mugs and shallow pasta bowls.

Retired art teacher here. I finally bought myself a kiln and currently do only hand building. I have felt inspired to combine my hand work with wheel thrown pieces; starting with bowls. Thank you for your video sharing; really helps!

I'm brand new to pottery, and your videos have been so informative and inspiring. My initial goal is to make fun mugs for my kids, but would like to move on to bigger and better things soon after.

I teach homeschool pottery classes to 20 to 30 students in small groups. I bought six of these wheels and 6 inch bed risers from Amazon. It brings the wheels up to the perfect height for student to sit on an upside down 5 gallon pail and learn to throw many kiddos have been extremely happy getting to try their hand up pottery and I was able to bring it to them at affordable price. Of course they’re not horses like my skutt wheel

Honestly, if I had that wheel, I'd be making so many big "Roundy Bowls, " like I made in my college ceramics class. qwq I miss that class so much and loved getting to make bowls and mugs that fit the round, bulbous aesthetic I've always wanted in my dishware. It was the best thing EVER! Also maybe branch out into plates with little "roundy" edges to match. I love plates with curvy, raised edges!
