Incredible, I once passed through Round Top traveling for work and was completely blown away of what was there. I had never heard of it and despite me being a Baylor student. The concert hall seems immaculate in person. Round Top is out in the middle of the Texas country where there isn't really much of note for hours and suddenly you come across a town of less the hundred people where it seems like you stepped into Europe. Never really understood the back story until now.

I had the opportunity to perform on that stage in high school. The acoustics are wonderful

Years ago, my wife and I were in Round Top and went over to Festival Hill. There was nobody around, but we really wanted to see it. We snuck around and found an unlocked door and went inside. We were blown away, and quite nervous. Suddenly, we heard a voice asking who was there. We were confronted by none other than Richard Royal. We apologized for sneaking in. What did he do? He gave us a personal tour for about an hour and a half. If anyone is the true definition of a gentleman, It was Richard Royal. Sadly he has passed. He left us with an unforgettable memory. may he rest in peace.
