POV: It’s the last day of school and all your students just left

that feeling of accomplishment, content, but also sadness. you finished guiding one generation of children and the next ones are coming your way. i bet it’s hard when you get attached to some of the kids

Last year, after all the students left, my teacher sat down at her desk, looked around the room a few times, and started bawling her eyes out. I know this because me and my friend and I had just left to go get her flowers, and we were coming right back. When we came back, she was in tears. Something I'll never forget. Very wholesome

Today was my last day of my school. This was my favorite teacher I’ve ever had and I stayed ten minutes after the bell just thinking of how to say goodbye. She started crying and I went home, ran to my room and started crying too. I miss that teacher so much and it have been 2 hours.

when school ended this year, we all wrote messages on our history teacher's whiteboard. i went back into his room to say goodbye to him and saw him just staring at the whiteboard smiling. it was a very wholesome moment.

Aww, I remember this feeling. Taught kindergarten for 10 years. Now my first kindergarten class I ever had are graduated and on to begin their lives. I'm still a proud kindergarten teacher of every one of my students.

we just finished sixth grade today
and whenever I was waving goodbye to my teachers, I saw my orchestra teacher.
that man was crying and for some reason when he saw me, he cheered up and waved.
that's how you know being a teacher is tough 😭😭😭

edit: yes, I know it's their job to have the old, and the new. they can get used to it. but take my ELA teacher and me. she knows about my family drama I know about hers, and we just know each other, ALOT. and so we had a strong bong. but only because she had us for so long, we had to leave. she cried.
