Steve Hackett ‎– Genesis Revisited Band & Orchestra: Live At The Royal Festival Hall

"It was a fantastic experience for both the band and myself to play alongside an orchestra and to feel the power of the sound this extraordinary combo created. It sounds equally compelling on both film and audio. I'm proud to release this exciting product." ~ Steve H.

I am 65 now, and I believe this is one of the greatest compositions of the past 50 years.

Steve Hackett and Tony Banks have no idea that a guy in the remote town of India is addicted to their guitar and piano and blessing them for their music. This is the best thing about being an artist. This song has to be the greatest song ever.

I have seen Genesis 13 times and Hackett 7 times, just as recently as last year. Brought tears to my eyes then, just as now listening to that version. I really think think, for us old 70"s folks it reminds us of the best times of our lives as far as music goes. I can't wait to see him next year. Steve is vastly underrated an I think one of the best ever. Best song ever!

The first time I met my now-husband’s brother, he asked me what kind of music I liked. I told him “a bunch of stuff you’ve never heard of, but I really love old Genesis.”
He smiled, went over to their mom’s old piano, and played the intro to this song.
We were buddies from then until the day he died.
He would have loved this.
Thank you.

One of the best songs ever written in music history. Simple as that.

That guitar solo is quite simply the most heartbreakingly beautiful piece of music ever written

Steve doesn't get enough love for being as insanely great as he is. The guitar solo here is mesmerizing, haunting, beautiful and damn it I'm chopping onions again it seems.

A whole orchestra for an instrumental break to lead into one of the finest guitar solos ever written on this earth. A well deserved honour for Steve Hackett and the most weeping guitar solo ever.

Who can write like this today? The level of composition and musicianship has shrunk, compressed, into a infinitely small corrected space. Waiting for a big bang to happen again.
