Living in the Gdansk area with family now. Finally decided to make the move from the US. It was a bit easier for me as my mother, grandparents, great grandparents etc etc are from Poland and my entire family lives here from Lublin to Gdansk etc. I was the first one born stateside and my brother everyone else here etc etc but now I am currently waiting for my Permanent Resident card, renewing my mother's Polish passport then applying for mine etc etc etc etc. I don't plan on ever returning to the US only to take care of a few more details once I have all my docs etc in place . I enjoy the winters the summers and being around the culture I grew up with etc. cheers i na zdrowie!!

if you dont learn local language you just helping bringing tp Poland what you dislike on US, you just diluting the social cohesion and trust, the shared values and traditions, the thing you described you like on living in Poland.
If you dont want to learn local language you never integrate but are either transient migrant, forever foreigner, always the outsider, or starting parallel society( like in the west with whole neighbourhoods where locals dont speak local language nor interact with majority and just live like they were still in their home country).

I’m Polish. And I used to live in America, in Chicago to be more precise. I still remember dating my American ex girlfriend. And how her parents would constantly harass me for not having a car. They were like “you’re not qualified to date our daughter, because you don’t have a car”, or “go back to Poland”. Everything had to be their way…

The low cost of living argument cannot be taken seriously from those that earn their income in USD. Get a local job that pays in polish zloty, then we'll talk about how low the cost of living is

Overall, I agree with your findings - these may indeed be important factors that make Poland attractive to Americans. However, maybe 2 comments - Poland is relatively cheap, but if you earn money in a strong foreign currency - for many Poles earning an average local salary - it is not so good. Secondly - what you consider to be an advantage of social life in Poland, i.e. a certain type of moral or social conservatism, may be considered by many, especially younger Poles, to be a severe burden - but foreigners generally either encounter it superficially or not at all. A small example - if you were in a same-sex relationship with your partner, under the applicable law you have almost no rights as a couple. It is not possible to legalize your relationship as a partnership, let alone enter into a marriage, therefore you have no joint tax or inheritance rights - you will not even be able to find out about your partner's health if he/she were suddenly hospitalized, because you are officially to him/her a stranger. And issues such as your adoption of children are completely unimaginable for the vast majority of society.
I would like to point out that I have been married to the same woman for over 30 years, we have two daughters of our own and one adopted, so I am not dealing with any of my private matters with this comment. I just want my society to be even more open, which also means that I am definitely not a conservative :)

4:00 fun fact - all Bar Mleczny bars are subsidised by a state to enshure that poor still have access to cheap food. That's why for example they have set amount of dishes and food quota made and if they for example run out of kompot or pierogi it is what it is and you can't get more that day.

Not sure where in the US you lived, but living in multiple states to this day I have never had anyone introduce themselves “by their gender or sexual orientation”. I mean I guess it must happen somewhere sometimes, but suggesting “everybody” does this in the US is wild..

If you don't speak the lingo, you're not really living in Poland, but merely staying there.

As an Asian American living in Poland, how much ant-Asian sentiment have you experienced compared to living in other countries (Colombia). Keep us posted.

Oh, never mind, you addressed it around 6 minutes in the video.

As a Christian nation, I'm sure many Christian Americans may want to live there.

So you are living in one of the biggest cities in Poland, and biggest one based on tourism. I was living in Krakow for a year and it was not pleasant experience. Expensive, crowded, loud, with huge traffic jams (even if you are using public transport). But I guess you are comfortable with that. I wonder how would you fell about smaller cities or villages - even better or much worse.

Kolejny przybysz z krainy samobieżnego, śpiącego dziadka. Wygląda sympatycznie. Azjaci to jednak porządni ludzie.

Just finishing touring around Poland. 100% agree with these points. Feels like US 2005-2010, good years.

Actually, gun rights in the US are a good thing. Public access to firearms has prevented more crime then it has caused. Not to mention, it's fun as a recreational activity. The anti-gun movement is unfortunately like a lot of others grounded in everything but statistics and patterns. Not to mention, there's a lot you have to go through to own and maintain a license.
