Monsta by Sim Racing Hardware Review by Inside Sim Racing

The Monsta is used as an external display that relays car data to the driver real time. See how Darin sets it up and then puts it on the Inside Sim Racing "Revs Scale".

Yes, I have been in touch with Juan and Pablo Lopez and we will be reviewing his quick release.

Well they do have plenty of plates that can be bolted to the wheel so you'll probably find something to suit you.

Good review Darin. Very nice product for someone who doesn't or can't do a DIY.

I definitely always drive in cockpit. I also use my system for other work as well as other types of gaming. I can't imagine trying to use 3DSMax or After Effects with that thing in the way. I suppose I could mount some sort of cradle on the bottom of the monitor and lay this in it in front of the monitor when I want to race. Then remove it when finished. Interesting thought.

I wonder if you guys one day will review the JZ quickrelease from Simulaje? It's a connector for the G27 wheelbase and the SRW-S1.

This actually would look great on my real life ride too

Really well done product -- so much so that I could see it in today's arcade machine displays. The cost however, is too steep IMO

Darin are you guys gonna do a review of the Clubsport wheel?

My only con would be the rev LEDs. Would prefer just one row, somewhere in the middle, going from left to right.

Otherwise very fancy looking. Would look great even on my plain ol' desk, below my plain ol' monitor. Can you tell I can't afford it?

i didn't mean to offend you, the physics are fine, but sometimes the car suddenly breaks out if you just touch the steering wheel

I agree, it's too big. And I wouldn't want it above my monitor. I want the style that can be fixed on to my wheel (and rotates with the wheel), or looks fine just behind my wheel (mounted to the top of the wheel base). But this does look nice build... and gives me more confidence to buy a SymProjects item, like the Pro-Race. But overall out of my current budget... maybe one day.

Can you guys do a review of the Renovatio SRD-9C please! :)

Good sim: soft body physics, multiplayer, versatility, ... but they need some work on some physics and the sound quality.

This seems like it wasn't thought through. First off it's really big. If I lifted my monitors to the point that I could see this thing when mounted underneath, I'd be looking up too far at my monitors. To add to it, they have that 1/2 inch raised section on the top edge. That makes it so you have to raise your monitors even higher and you can't mount the unit flush to the bottom of the monitors. Top mounting is not an option for real use. Clear case of "we could build it but should we"?

Nah, you're thinking about it the wrong way. You place this thing so it overlaps with your monitors. So instead of looking at useless dashboard in cockpit view, you're looking at the Monsta. Which is perfect and why I'm thinking about getting one. But if you're not driving in cockpit view, then you have a point.
