As a former native New Yorker I became very familiar with the subway growing up. As far as the rescuer is concerned, The section underneath the platform itself, has ample space to duck into but you have to wedge yourself up against that wall. The other option, IF he had time, would’ve been the “Cat Hole” in the big walls on the other side of the tracks. The danger in that is that the 3rd rail is lined up there and you better be careful when attempting to access those holes. But that was tremendously courageous and a wheelchair situation on top of that! Great job!
