He is the editor-in-chief of Zygon, Journal of Religion & Science, editor or co-editor of twenty books, published more than fifty journal articles and essays, numerous book reviews and articles for the wider public, Professor of Philosophy of Religion and Ethics and vice-dean of the Faculty of Humanities of Leiden University in the Netherlands.
