2018 iPad Pro or New iPad Mini 6: Which is Worth The Price?

I found the 2020 refurbished iPad Pro 11" model for about the same price... and man, that makes it almost impossible to go towards the new iPad Mini 6. I mean, unless you absolutely need the smallest size for some reason. It's crazy how much better it is for the price though (whether 2018 or 2020).

definitely try out in store first. I bought the mini thinking it could be a good side tablet but I am used to 11 inch model for everything and the mini seems too small now. IMO check in store and then decide, you might not be able to judge based on images. Although the mini is so lite and so easy to hold but if I were to spend the same money, I would buy the 11" pro.

When I was still in college 4 years ago, I had an iPad pro that I tried to use to replace my laptop. It was great for taking notes, but it just wasn't enough as a laptop replacement even with the magic keyboard. I'm looking to get an iPad just strictly as a tablet, so I have no need for the keyboard. It's mostly going to be used as a media consumption, so I'm considering either the Mini or the Air.

Not gonna lie, I actually traded in my 2018 iPad Pro 11inch for this new iPad mini since apple gave me $450 for it and I also picked up the new iPhone 13pro and my my everyday to day use I absolutely love my iPad mini way more already than my old pro and between the screens between my old iPad Pro and this new mini I can barely notice the 60hrtz on this mini with the normal tasks I’ve been doin like taking it to class, updating dropshipping accounts, YouTube binging it’s been absolutely flawless. I must say I also have a new M1 Mac so didn’t really need the iPad Pro as much that’s why I offered it up as a trade and damn am I glad I did
Both are a great choice nonetheless and can’t go wrong with any of the two it’s really just up to screen size but the portability of the mini is just 1of1

The ipad air 2 which is coming up to 7 years old is still getting the latest updates... currently running 15.01 ... yes it's a little laggy but incredible that as a piece of tech (which changes literally daily), a 7 year old slate is still doing fine for general use - sreaming, emails, Internet browsing

The mini for me is a better device. It’s easier to use as a tablet whereas larger iPads are better as laptop replacements. That being said, because of iPadOS the iPad is a poor laptop replacement for me. Speaking as someone that traded in a 12” iPad Pro for the new mini.

I personally own the ipad pro 2018 since 2018…..BUT always love the size and weight of the ipad mini so I bought the iPad mini and return in a week because I’m too used to 120hz….the ipad mini always seem “slower” for some strange reason lol….

The mini replaces my 2018 12.9 pro for convenience of being super light. It doesn't replace the pro for drawing. I can take it with me more easily, I can still use the apple pencil. Gaming is better on the mini. The mini is also slightly thicker which is nice because my pro got bent in my bag and I had to bend it back straight! Mini can be used pretty comfortably without a case because it's generally going to go in a bag, not a pocket and it's obviously a 2 handed device but super easy to hold. The pro must have a case for structural integrity (at least this 2018 model).

The iPad mini 6 is nice but it's not worth the price. I'll stick with the 2018 iPad Pro 11-inch.

I was looking for the same answer as well. I owned a 2018 11in ipad pro cellular with 512gb for about 18 months... Unfortunately, after warranty it develops a problem. part of the screen is not responsive and using apple pencil is now impossible. Replacing a screen is almost like 75% of a new ipad mini or ipad air and I'm not sure which to choose... I guess now that I'm going to repair it.
