Welcome back to MarcelianOnline! Today, we’re looking at the long awaited Unholy DK rework in the War Within alpha and boy does it improve the spec! Many talents were fixed, others were removed while some new ones made it in. The actual unholy dk gameplay is so much better now it’s insane!
The dk hero talents complement the spec in unique ways too! Rider of the Apocalypse brings in some much needed mobility while San’layn unholy dk just floods you with resources and enables a super smooth gameplay. There is a lot to be improved when it comes to the war within dk hero talents but overall, this is great!
There will be a lot more iterating until war within beta and we do expect more updates for the fire mage hero talents so be sure to stay subscribed to not miss out on any update!

This is a step up from previous iterations but I don't know why Blizzard refuses to either bake the cleave into a passive or just make DnD a aura like Remorseless Winter.

Raise Abomination was a pvp talent I believe I'm glad to see in the main talent tree

I wish they leaned more into the necromancer-esque aspects of the death knight for unholy. I understand it is meant to be the "pestilence" of the specs, with blood being famine and frost being death, with the whole horsemen of the apocalypse vibe the class has going on but it is the closest we'll likely ever get to a full necromancer. I'd love if festering wounds summoned a ghoul for a few seconds after bursting one but I know that's likely never going to be something.

On a Paler Horse wont allow you to use it in dungeons that allow mounting. its for Outdoor content, specifically for open world, -Maybe- delves but I'd have to see it to believe it. They use outdoor content as a phrase when meaning open world a lot, so even if a dungeon is outdoors it doesnt mean that

unholy shoud be able to tame any undead as a pet, just like hunters, the pet thing is so limited, if you MC a undead in m+ iw way weeaker then your pet, and that is sad

Aren’t the main issues still the same? Opener with 20 buttons? Defile which covers any mechanics? Pretty crappy class tree, even after changes? It doesn’t look awesome - looks quite lazy - few minor changes in spec tree feels lackluster and unholy assault being capstone which is main cooldown and had to always be taken - that’s very bad. Rework is lazy and pretty minimal - compared tonorher classes rework. I know people are starving for DK reworks but let’s make it for what is really is - lazy and minimal, not solving most of the issues spec have.

i love DK, but im no longer maining it

all these changes are not substantial, basically the same class

im a Monk now, and i will remain a Monk in the war within
Monk will just get much better in every way with many sensible and desired changes

I really hope Frost DK doesn’t have Cleaving Strikes after it rework. Using D&D to make your attacks cleave should be a mechanic for Blood and Unholy only. Frost doesn’t need the “Short Cleaving Window” gameplay.

Still doesn't fix the button bloat and the fix for dnd could've been so much better. The class core tree is an improvement but still needs major work.

Damn raise ambo is back ❤ i loved it in pvp so much and now i can use it everywhere. Now give frost a good rework with other playstyle and i'm happy 😂

Man i dont know the talents are cool af but i still kinda feel you are being forced to either go full aoe or ST which isnt optimal for M+ since you need both...

on a paler horse sounds like a dream for specifically PVP battlegrounds, not sure the rest though it makes me excited every time i think about it

Subduing grasp is actually really good for M+ and raid etc. It applies the damage reduction effect even if you cannot grip them, so bosses and such doing big huge hits in M+ you can use grip as a minor defensive.

I want a channeled corpse explosion that does huge dam and adds a dot, should only be usable on your abom.

The reworked Sudden Doom is fantastic in dungeons considering critical strike gains a lot of value against more targets. Epidemic crits go hard.

Right now subduing grasp works on bosses even though they don’t get pulled. Turns death grip into a mini dr vs bosses
