Looking back at photos from my childhood, I have had large puffy circles under my eyes since I was around 4-5. I will never forget a guy in high school who asked me one day where I was traveling to. When I asked him why he thought I was traveling somewhere, he said, "Because your bags are packed." referring to my under-eye bags. I was absolutely mortified and obviously have never forgotten how awful I felt when he said that. My 50 year reunion is this summer, that's how long ago it was. I have tried everything and nothing has gotten rid of the dark circles under my eyes. I will no doubt try some suggested here as I am always hopeful. Thank you for this video.

I’ve had severe eye bags all my life, and nothing gets them 100% gone. What’s helped is caffeine cream in the morning, and retinol cream at night. What helps me is to not let ANY product touch the water line of my eyes. I stop about 4 millimeters before it reaches the waterline. My eyes used to water all day long before I started doing that, and once I stopped slapping product all over my eyes, the irritation, puffiness, and tears stopped.

Puffy eyes are a symptom of potassium deficiency. I just increased my potassium and they cleared up in a couple of weeks. Lentil soup with sweet potatoes and spinach. That’s it!

Thank you for mentioning the possible effects of retinoids on the meibomian glands! Dry eye syndrome is such a huge problem that significantly affects quality of life for a lot of people, especially in the populations that would be looking to treat eye bags, etc. As an optometrist who treats a lot of dry eye, I see every day how common meibomian gland dysfunction has become, and the effects are so hard to manage once you get to a certain point of gland atrophy/morphological changes.

Hey Doctorly! I’m a teen struggling with my skin and your channel has been more than helpful with buying items for my skincare routine. While searching for brands, I found many different views on what ingredients and brands are good for young skin but many contradict each other. I think it would be SUPER helpful if you could have pages on your website for different age groups including ingredients to get or avoid! Thanks a bunch, again!!!

For many people over age 40 or 50, you need to mention bone loss. What do you recommend for people with hollowness under the eye creating circles under the eye? No topical product addresses this.

Fresh aloe gel and liquid right from the leaf. Cold from the fridge. Shape skin as you mesage in - work toward the ear. Let dry. Lifts and tightens skin and give a health glow. I'm four months in on the regimen and I get compliments on my complextion and or ppll tell me I look healthy. I am a 57 yo man & an avid sun worshiper.

Plexiderm has changed my life. I do my long term under eye care at night (retinol plus hyaluronic acid) and then plexiderm after my shower in the morning. I have found that my night time routine has improved my under-eye bags so much that I’m only having to do Plexiderm 2-3 times per week now.

Drinking enough water made my eyes less creepy. It was amazing how different they looked. I was definitely not drinking enough. Strive for 6-8.

Yay, thank you!! There's so much talk about dark under eye circles but I struggle with the dreaded bags, so I really appreciate this information. Dr. Maxfield was on fire in this video and I'm here for it 🙌

I use the small end of a cold jade roller which seems to move the lymphatic fluid and helps it drain. It works and so do soaked teabags!

Moral of the story:
*Step 1: Ask to your derm wich kind of eyebags you have* so you can do the correct choice of products/procedures without waisting your money and experiencing frustration.
Step 2: Be realistic. Miss ACGT and Miss Gravity cannot be avoided, just attenuated.

I apply all my serums (niacinamide, peptides etc) on the eyes and lips except for vitamin C or the exfoliating ones. Every night use the Geek & Gorgeous retinal on my face and around the eyes and on top a simple moisturizing cream. I’m 60 and I think the skin around my eyes is in a pretty good condition. Thanks for this very interesting video 👍

Peter Thomas Roth didn't work for me and left residue. I really love the Fanciful Fox and Ren products. Nothing completely gets rid of eye bags but avoiding salt, drinking lots of water and a good night's sleep really helps. Allergies can also cause puffy eyes.

I love the Biossance eye cream too. It's like a second skin.
