BEST Organic Matcha Powder: Blind Taste Test and Review of 14 Brands from around the internet!

What is the BEST organic matcha powder? Let's find out with a blind taste test of 14 brands! My baseline criteria were that the matcha powders had to be organic and made in Japan. I looked at bloggers' favorite brands, top products on Google, and highest rated products on Amazon when selecting which ones to try.

Now I took this taste test into consideration, but I also took things like price and packing into account when I made my final recommendation for my favorite green tea powder.

The ocean taste is culinary used for cooking. Ceremonial is for tea but can be used for lattes and is more earthy flavor. Organic matcha is always gonna be bitter versus non organic.

I just started drinking matcha today. Did some light research and got the Akira from Matcha Konami. Little back reference I’ve been drinking green tea after switching from coffee due to high bp. All I can say is that I absolutely loved the taste of Akira compared to the green teas I’ve been drinking. I see that you enjoyed it as well. Guess I’ll keep using this brand. I’m a little curious about more expensive luxury matchas. Anyone know of a good high end brand?

It may be that online and also in shops that are not specialized tea shops, store Matcha too warm, and it then goes bad very before the MHD and the Matcha tastes fishy.
That's not good when people are put off by the first pack of Matcha and think that this is normal when Matcha tastes fishy.

Good video! One thing a lot of people don’t know is that there’s organic matcha from Japan that is not rated organic. Like the company itself couldn’t bother themselves to go through the whole process of getting the organic certification.

Love to see good matcha reviews and this one is very informative. The only what bothers me is that you took 14 brands, form them 10 ceremonial grade matcha (first on the list) and compared to 4 culinary grade matcha (next on the list). Do you think ceremonial grade matcha should be compared to culinary grade?
