I saw this as a caption and thought it was someone summarizing what he said. He actually said those exact words. Wow.

I think the thing that irritates me the most is when politicians say not to trust experts but to trust themselves instead like they're the real experts. Isn't that how a cult works?

So you knew the law but called them illegal anyway. We call that a lie.

ok but fr why do they PREFER the immigration process to be 10 years long? like why do you want people seeking refuge to have to wait in limbo for a decade rather than creating a safe and efficient way to get immigrants DOCUMENTED. like isnt that the goal???

I actually enjoyed this debate. They were cordial to each other.
They both agreed to disagree!! And the handshakes were very good.

If they intend to tell the truth during debates why should Trump and Vance have such an obvious hatred of being "fact checked"??

So many of you missed what happened here. This was typical media meddling in something to change an outcome. The rule was “ no fact checking” but yet the mods did, and then entered the debate and THEN did not let the participant respond. As a follow-up they then muted their mics! That was Mr Walz’s job to refute Mr Vance’s statement, and only his. It then became 3 on one. Funny how in this time with all the sensitivity about bullying it’s done on national tv and completely overlooked. Afterward the sentiment is that Mr Vance was trying to talk over and “ mansplain”. So again, mods be quiet, let the two gentlemen spar, and move on.

CBP One was created October 28, 2020, look it up

Vance admitted to making that up last week! Why would he try and use it again?

People here complaining about fact checking like they rather have someone lying to them. Even JD Vance admitted that he created that story about Springfield

Did some research and found the CBP One App was created in 2020. But that is just the creation of the app, which allows you to easily access the services needed to enter the country seeking asylum. The laws and regulations regarding seeking asylum were in place before the app. (Starting with the Refugee Act of 1980) So if you listen to what both men are saying, they are both correct. The App was created in 2020 but the laws regarding seeking asylum, that Walts was referring to, were in place long before the App. I think Vance might be spinning it into saying the immigrants only started entering the country once the app went live, but that's not the case.

Why should they have to wait 10 years is the bigger question

Horrible moderator tried to sneak that in. Good on Vance.

That's really not the "legal process" though. That's what's in place now.

The Maga Cult: Terrible moderator cutting our guy from lying!!! We love our alternative facts. Lol

Step 1. Made illegal immigration... illegal.

Step 2. Create pathways for illegals to become legal throughs steps that completely ignore the problem and go against our previously built systems.

Step 3. Claim "they're not illegal" because of those changes that ultimately, only makes them "legal" because the people with power says so, disregarding all previous laws, systems, the people already here, and strains such as economy and housing.

Step 4. Claim someone lied while hiding the fact that these pathways were created solely to allow the issue to continue while also being able to call opponents liars, relying purely on voter ignorance and weaponized bias.

Have fun, folks. It's only going to get messier.

And for the "you said you wouldn't fact check" folks, that's right. They weren't going to do live fact checks, instead allowing the candidates to rebuttal and DEBATE. Here the moderators "fact checked" Vance, silenced him, then refused to allow the rebuttal that was agreed upon being allowed.
