Nothing efficient about having to wash your clothes 2 times. BRING BACK THE OLD WASHERS

They should change the name to inefficient!!!! I ABSOLUTELY HATE the newer models!

I miss when washers just let you select how much water to put in

Thanks for the tip. It was driving me crazy that my sheets weren’t getting completely wet and getting clean. 🙏🏽

I had my husband attach a hose and I add as much water as I like. Also the clothes are FINALLY getting clean! Hate those new "eco friendly" machines. You can't clean clothes with a gallon of water.🤦‍♀️

How to trick your washer into filling with more water:
1. Toss your HE washer into the trash
2. Get an old style washing machine like Speed Queen

Thank you for these tips! I started using the garden hose the soak everything in the laundry basket before adding it to the machine, and that absolutely helped with the water levels. I have both pre-soak and 2 rinses on, so the whole thing ends up using more water than if it was just a regular machine that worked normally. I also ordered "agitator balls" online -- with no agitator in the machine they are relying on the clothes tumbling around to get them clean and it isn't enough. I hope these help!

For best results thoroughly wash clothes before putting in stupid new machine.

_#1 - Try dunking your items in water (first) before adding to machine. #2 - Once soaked items are placed inside take 1 gallon of water (an empty milk jug) and slowly pour over the arranged items. If you pour too fast apparently the sensor somehow knows it's water and starts the spin cycle, but slowly doesn't. _*_It's absurd we're have to try all this! Give me an older machine any day!!_** *** UPDATE: After following the tips I'd reposted, I honestly can't tell the difference :(

Fantastic tip. I hated my brand new washer because even deep water setting filled less than half way! Clothes on top didnt even get wet, ugh! Thank you!!!

My washer is installed right next to the deep sink. The deep sink faucet has a expandable hose, I put the clothes in the machine, take the hose and soak the clothes with water and then I turned the machine on.

This is a great tip, whenever I do my sheets/blankets I put my GE on Bulky items with deep rinse. The deep fill is a sham, it adds maybe half a gallon extra. Whenever I have to do a load of big items I add 4-6 gallons of water from jugs after the unit finishes filling the little amount it does, that's the only way I've found to get everything wet. Time consuming and reminds me of how great we had it with old machines.

I finally found a quick fix. Set your washer to "bulky" items. I am amazed this works! No more adding buckets of water to cover the clothes.

Thank you. I agree on wasting water by draining but you just made me think that I can simply drench the clothes, before washing to add weight.

Shopping for a new washer in 2020 is freakin torture. I mean really. We now have to "trick" the machine so it uses enough water. I wish I had called that repair guy instead of buying a new one. I am going to buy a used one thats 10 years old before they got ruined. Why do we need a computer for a washing machine? They worked great for like 50 years. Do people really want a damn smartphone app for laundry? It's ridiculous. Rant over

I’ve been using the Bedding cycle. It’s meant to fill up to a higher level in spite of the fluffiness vs light weight of comforters and such. All the other settings on my new lg top load don’t have enough water for the fabrics to freely agitate

When I first bought my HE top load washing machine, I used to hate it. Got mad at it all the time. 🤣😂🤭
My sister then told me her husband had added another hose to the wall, so she could fill it more.
So ever since then, I add like a gallon and a half once the clothes are in. Making sure that all the clothes soak up the extra water. Problem solved. 👏🏼😁🤭
