I have a friend with one of these stoves. After getting it going, loaded with wood about like you did, the fire was roaring. The "Rocket" sound. I also have a Kelly Kettle, smaller, unique design with a water bottle/chimney, horizontal bottom feed and central stack. You can get a roaring fire with half the wood and have all the heat you want for cooking, boiling water. With too heavy a load there is a delay, but you can have a tall blue blowtorch that you might be scared to cook on, but sure fun to watch. Start with a little and slowly adding fuel is better. It will burn entirely and fast and leave nothing but ash.

I have a rocket stove very similar to this and I love it! It truly works just using twigs, etc. from what's in your environment. Big ole pot of chili cooking on it.... yum yum! Highly recommend it.

I bought the "Stove Tech" branded stove about 12 years ago as a prep for cooking in grid down situations. I have cooked many meals on mine. I think I paid around $200 for it back then. I would certainly recommend this stove. It uses very little fuel, but it does take practice and attention, similar to cooking with a Solo Stove. It is great for a home base as it doesn't tip over and is easy to feed. I might use it in a long term camping situation, but it is heavy to transport compared to other options

After watching this & the video of you cooking the steak & mushrooms I got so excited I jumped on Amazon and bought one. Now I just have to wait patiently until Friday the 13th of September. Having the lower Prime Membership that costs me about $6.00 a month I received free international shipping. My cost delivered to Brisbane was $204.72. Thanks for the great video and information 🙂👌👍

Saw the research for the design of this rocket stove a while back. It’s an excellent stove design for efficient use of fuel. It has turned out so nice, perfect for outside when the power goes off and on car camping trips. Thanks for sharing…from east Tennessee.

I was as excited as you when I bought mine a couple of years ago. One idea for you for the smaller pot is to use a small grill across the top and you can safely use the small pot.

Loved the review. "I'll work it out" a great phrase that means I didn't read the instruction book lol😂😂
In the Army we have an acronym "RTFB" "Read the fkn book" before we can use. A great stove, I would purchase 👍😀

The use of a pot skirt makes them even more efficient. There is an area around the pot holding grate for the skirt, even on this model.

They are grate for boiling water but cooking on too hot, I settled on a hot tent stove plus side of that it has secondary burn and no black pots and can be used in or outside safely ❤

This would be ideal for a suburban backyard "fire pit". You get an visually pleasing fire that you can cook on, without needing to burn a lot of firewood (which you likely don't have a lot of )
