Growing up, my dad used to tell me stories about hitchhiking back in the 70s. Then one day when I was 22 I took a trip to Florida (from Ohio) to drop my brother off at his LDR girlfriends apartment, as he was going to move in. Had the time of my life just exploring Ft Lauderdale by myself with my dog. So a week after I got back home, I packed a bag and left with my dog. Had 80 cents in my pocket and spent the next 5 years hitchhiking around the US, and eventually the world. Just myself, my dog, and a number of friends I made along the way.

The hardest part of traveling is the first step. If its something you really wanna do, just do it. Being young means being able to throw everything out the window, and having time to rebuild as many times as you need to. Short of death, severe illness, or having kids, theres not much you dont have time to bounce back from. So take risks while you can. Grab your life by the horns and ride it as hard as you can till it bucks you off. Ya only get one chance here, experience as much as you can!
