I've lost weight for the first time in years, my own doctor practice recommended it, 10lbs in 14 days. never lost on low fat as many other people.

I stalled because my brain hadn’t caught up with my new body size. I thought I was still big and ate to feed it. Why was I still feeding the weight that I had already lost? When I went to buy new clothes I automatically went to the large section because I thought I was still that size. But I’m medium size now. That’s when I realised I had to eat less to feed my medium sized body. When I get to my goal weight I’ll have to remind my brain that I will have to eat for a small body then! When one has been overweight for a long time, one has to learn to adjust downwards. Love your channel and your lovely voice. Cheers.

Thanks Diet Doctor!!! I signed up this morning to your site as a member with my son. So much amazing information on eating the low carb high fat diet lifestyle! I have been on this program for a little while and feel so amazing. Mental clarity alone is something I have never experienced on a diet plan before!!! I don't crave anything at all!!! This guy knows what he is talking about. If you've had trouble with lchf, you probably did not get your macros correct. He provides a great deal of free information.The comments on having to pay for more seems a bit picky. What, he can't make a living? I followed his advice, lost weight, gained muscle and energy. It is not the same as just reducing calories, the high fat is crucial.

What a tease. I like a lot of the DD content and understand they need to pay the bills, but don’t take us halfway through a countdown list then charge to see the rest. In retail that’s called a ‘bait and switch’ and may be illegal and is certainly unethical imo. For an organization that claims to be pursuing a noble cause, this is out of character and you should be better than that.

For me the biggest mistake was thinking that the low carb diet you start out on (and which works so well in the first stages), will be the same one you'll be able to use throughout your weight-loss regime. Unfortunately, the more weight you lose, the less you must eat to continue losing more weight, so I found (for example) that I hit a plateau after a year, even though I thought I was being quite strict. However, I had been consuming maybe 50-80 grams of carbs every day, and all the fat I wanted. The only way I could resume weight loss was first by reducing my fat consumption... until I later hit another plateau, and then by further reducing carbs to under 20 grams. Even then I am beginning to level out again and plan to start introducing fasting days too.

Re sweeteners. I bought an artificially sweetened soda a couple of months ago. Drank 2 or possibly 3 small glasses. Half a litre? It shook me out frome ketosis!!! Some bad batch?? The other time I did drank the same soda, I too immediately went up half a kilo, although I didnt lost the ketose. But my "brother in LCHF" told me aspartam+acesulfam K is known to sometimes throw you out from ketose (and yes, spike up the insuline too)... At least, in some individuals. Just barely half a litre! (a pound). I mean, if I took regular sugar sweetened soda, it wouldnt damage my ketosis, because I do have some margins.... So, big warning for sweeteners - especially aspartam + acesulfam K; a common combination. But its possibly true for other sweeteners too. Why, if you REALLY must sweeten, its possibly a less bad compromise to take some raw honey... Its very bad for keto, but its at least healthy by itself...
