In CSGO, people would intentionally die to mollies because dying to other weapons commonly bought after the opposing team won pistol would give the other team more money compared to the non-molly kills the following round.

There’s no way they should ban this right. They’re choosing to give up their chance of winning the eco round to not give up orbs for ults. It’d be stupid to ban in my opinion

There was a similar strategy in CS go back in the day. The SMG‘s were very powerful and they often rivaled the rifles. In CS go you get more money for kills with lesser weapons like shotguns or SMG’s. So on certain rounds teams would just throw down a Molotov and burn to death to avoid giving the enemy the increased kill money. It’s been many years, but it’s interesting. How balance affects behavior.

Negatuve infinite IQ if opponents have rounds lead with devastated economy.

This does a 2 good things:
1. Does not let enemy team farm orbs/plant orb (ult round 3 can potentially swing the round)
2. It denies attackers plant & frag money
BUT you do lose the round dealing 0 damage. Sometimes securing small advantages can help build momentum, but it is kinda lame to watch

Optimal strat is to stack site and hope for the best. If the defenders guess wrong or attackers decide to rotate, take the orb if possible and then jump off the map

The only problem with this strategy is that if enemy has vods you do that can’t they just buy 5 rifles and have a way better chance to convert bonus since they know you like to jump off map when you lose pistol

Remember the ump meta in CSGO, pros used to molotov them self so the enemy cannot take the reward

This will usually not be used because while denying opponnets money and orbs by dying, you also deny yourself money and orbs (dying to fall doesn't give orb unless you did dmg) by doing no dmg and getting 0 kills especially if it's attack you don't get the bomb plant bonus. The only reason it was used is because abyss is such a large map. Rotations are slow and short weapons have like 0 chance of winning against longer weapons in this map which is why they jumped. It's usually not advised.

if this happens more frequently its a sign they need to buff some pistols and the stinger. It means that the chance of turning eco rounds is so low that teams would rather suicide to maintain a better ult economy than to play out the eco round and give the enemy team ult orbs.

Even if it is a strategy to avoid enemy team getting the ult orbs, It can result in very bad mental that can cost them the whole game.
