The dry season in south-eastern Sri Lanka brings all kinds of animals to the watering hole. But as they drink they are unaware of a ferocious predator, with remarkable hunting skills, waiting in the depths.

Thank you, BBC for showing the wildlife of my country. SL is also home to the largest leopard subspecies in the world. It is also home to the smallest cat in the world, the Fishing Cat. The largest wild Elephant gathering also takes place in Sri Lanka with over 300 elephants. Red Slender Loris is endemic to Sri Lanka along with many other animals. There are tarantulas the size of a human face. The Delft Island in Sri Lanka also has a population of around 400 wild horses. They were abandoned by the Portuguese some 400 years ago. These horses have now evolved into subspecies and adapted well to their arid landscape by eating sea lichen for water.

Never smile at a crocodile, No you can't get friendly with a
Crocodiles evolved at the same time as the dinosaurs, so when they survived the mass extinction of the non avian ones, they just changed their dietary habits and started eating mammals.
