'He is intimidating': Jacqui Lambie backs 'bully' claims against Scott Morrison

Independent Senator Jacqui Lambie has claimed Prime Minister Scott Morrison is a “bully” and is “probably one of the most unpleasant men” she has had to sit in front of.

Ms Lambie’s comments come after outgoing Liberal Senator Concetta Fierravanti-Wells recently launched a scathing attack on Mr Morrison – accusing him of corrupting the party’s NSW division, while also declaring he was “not fit to be Prime Minister”.

“It’s his way or the highway. [He’s] an autocrat, a bully, who has no moral compass,” Ms Fierravanti-Wells said on Tuesday evening.

Weighing in on the issue, Ms Lambie backed the claims made that Prime Minister Morrison is a bully.

“He is a bully, he is intimidating – and that’s the truth of the matter,” Ms Lambie told Sky News Australia.

“There is many of us females here that have had to be in and sit with Scott Morrison and I can tell you what, he’s probably one of the most unpleasant men I’ve ever had to sit in front of.

“Good on Connie for calling him out.”

On Wednesday, NSW Liberal Senator Hollie Hughes came to the defence of Scott Morrison, hitting back at Concetta Fierravanti-Wells' claims.

“I’ve known the Prime Minister for over 20 years, and I consider him not only a close friend but a mentor,” Ms Hughes said.

Ms Hughes had told Sky News Australia yesterday that she did not agree with the "character assessment of Scott" which Ms Fierravanti-Wells had made.

Former Prime Minister John Howard also recently commented on the matter, stating he hadn't "seen any evidence" that Morrison was a bully.
