9 CFL Octabox Light Kit - Unboxing, Assembly & Review!

This is my review of the: Impact Octacool-9 Fluorescent Light Kit with Octabox (9 Lamps) With Stand
The 9 CFL bulbs I received were 32W, daylight balanced between 5300 and 5800K.
Each bulb outputs 1400 lumens, x9 bulbs thats a total of 12,600 lumens!
I found the light was very soft and pleasant for both photo and video. The bulbs get a little warm over time, but not very hot at all! I found maybe a LITTLE greenish hue, but that’s to be expected and tweak with white balance and color grading. The unit is completely silent, which is great for filming with audio needs. Doesn’t break down and build up very fast, so keep that in mind. For all my shoots, I keep it assembled together and it travels in the car just fine. Overall, this is a really great octabox light kit, great build quality, and extremely affordable.

You can touch the glass on low temperature lamps like fluorescent, incandescent, and LED and it won’t shorten it’s life. It’s only high temperature lamps like halogen, tungsten, HID, and metal halide because the oils left behind can cause a minute temperature difference during start up and cool down over many cycles that fatigue the glass.

I just purchased this a few weeks ago and had been seriously struggling with the rods - your tip is a HUGE help and I can't wait to give it another go tomorrow, hopefully with less swearing!!!! :D

I have these lights and i replaced the lights with 100W Equivalent Daylight A19 Energy Star and Dimmable LED Light Bulb (2-Pack)
each bulb gives you 1680 lumens, they come in 2 back.
they work great you don't get any green or strange colors it works perfect and using the LED bulbs you get more light using them..
