This is a Motormouth couple car review of the 2024 Acura MDX 3-row, premium mid-size SUV. The 2024 Acura MDX has a 3.5L V6 engine with a 10-speed automatic transmission, 290 horsepower and 267 lb-ft of torque. In Canada, standard AWD and in the US, FWD and AWD options are available. Driving the 2024 Acura MDX, you would never know you are driving a 3-row SUV, it’s very nimble and feels more like a larger sedan than an SUV. The 2024 Acura MDX offers 7.3” of ground clearance and comes standard with Jewel Eye LED headlamps, LED taillights, available LED fog lights, standard power folding exterior mirrors, dual rectangular exhaust finishers, 20” wheels and a temporary spare tire. In the US, 19” wheels are standard. If you are looking for a sportier MDX go with the A-Spec model with a sport appearance package including black accents and shark grey 20” wheels. The 2024 Acura MDX comes with some great standard features including, dual 12.3” screens , True touchpad interface, navigation, wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto, wireless charger, a 12-pseaker ELS Studio premium audio system, power front seats with trimmed perforated leather, driver and passenger seat memory, heated front and rear seats, heated steering wheel, panoramic sunroof, hands-free power tailgate with walk away close. In the US, since there are more 2024 Acura MDX trims available, not all these features are standard but are available including, the ELS sound system, leather trimmed seats, passenger seat memory, a heated steering wheel, heated rear seats and a power tailgate. The interior of this top 2024 Acura MDX trim feels upscale and refined with French stitching on the dash, leather upholstery with piping on the seats and wood trim. I am still not crazy about the trackpad and I wish Acura offered the MDX with a touchscreen or both.

The 2024 Acura MDX gets 12.6L/100 km, 19 MPG city and 9.4L/100 km, 25 MPG highway.

I bought one in May and love it. We just took it on a long road trip and it’s the most comfortable SUV we’ve owned. A few years ago we owned a Tahoe that was fully loaded and I must say that was also very comfortable but a different type of vehicle for sure. I also owned a Macan GTS, which was the most thrilling of the lot, but again no comparison to the MDX for overall comfort.

The trackpad is really not a problem. I watched a video on YouTube and everything made sense and I have not had a single problem.

Getting used to the long hood and the width, for some reason has been my only growing pain. I never curb tires and I have curbed all four of these within two weeks of each other and I can’t explain why. I think it’s a combination of the length of the hood, the width and the low sitting position.

One thing I forgot to mention, is fuel. I think there is a lot of concern about premium fuel and the cost. One of the first things my sales person told me is that premium fuel is not required, and they at the dealership only use regular fuel in these vehicles. Also, inside the fuel lid door, it specifically says 91 octane recommended 87 octane minimum.

My wife and I have two ‘23 MDXs in the Advance Package. Both black, one ebony interior, the other espresso interior. Love these SUVs.

Love the mdx thought it drove fantastic and I liked the dash and trackpad. I slightly preferred the mdx to the cx90. I love the gv80 3.5tt but it’s way more exoensive and the mdx type S is a chefs kiss. The speakers are perfection along with power and handling.

One of the reasons we bought an MDX earlier this year was because it was a naturally aspirated 3.5 L V6. EVs are terrible. I rented a Tesla for a work trip and it was a nightmare. It told me I had enough mileage to get there but I ended up messing the city by 40 miles and I had to beg a man who owned a Tesla as well $100 to let me use his charger. We don’t have the electrical infrastructure for everyone to have an EV. The beauty of the gas V6 is it works there’s no problems it gets really good gas mileage for a FWD and I hope to have this vehicle for the next 25 years or longer.

My 2020 MDX was involved in bad crash that required new "black box" for driver seatbelt . It was stranded in the body shop for 2 months because Acura couldnt "secure" the part. What? We were at the end of our lease (crappy timing), without use of the car. We battled hard with Acura leasing for weeks to hold our lease payments until car was repaired /released to us. They kept refusing. We have owned a combo of 8 acuras/Hondas and will never own an Acura again due to customer service. We handed the car back to the dealer . We battled and got the remaining 2 months waived and handed the keys back to acura for good. We have a friend who was an Acura dealer and recently cut ties and became a Mazda dealer because he had enough with Acura's poor service with their dealers who tried to work with customer concerns.
It's too bad because I really liked my MDX for all of the reasons you highlighted. With CA gas prices hitting $7/gal, i will pass on premium gas cars.

Got my 2022 MDX when it first came out and absolutely love still. It drives like butter and the trackpad is beyond easy, I had that mastered during the test drive. The shifters are so perfect so don't let anyone tell you otherwise about the trackpad and shifters. I've had mercedes and bmw's and my Acura drives more comfortable than those two.

Good job Team Canada. I feel the important take away from this review is just how well the Acura drives and feels. The tech stuff is good enough and should not stop anyone from buying what is one of the best engineered vehicles.

Can't wait to see it revised without the touch pad.

Gr8 video as usual folks, we follow you guys and decided to purchased the A-Spec MDX from Burrard Acura and we are absolutely delighted to have picked this over QX-60. I’m however not a big fan of the dashboard. Guys at Burrard Acura are fantastic.

Thank you both for all the hard work and tons of info that you’ve put into these videos. We are currently trying to buy a new family car and you have been such a great help with all the information that you have on these videos. You’re the best ones out there in my opinion doing this. We test drove the mdx and rdx and loved them both.

Personally, i love the push button shifter; no shifter sticking up ..interior looks high tech.

As an Acura owner, I can agree with the thoughts of the look of the dashboard and the shifter and mode control knob. It’s a little tacky. Also, the touch pad is annoying compared to a touch screen. However….. when it came time to get a new car for my wife, we got a Lexus NX350, and it looks amazing. The downfall of Lexus is a few things. 1), The touch screen is disabled to type a search while driving. The touch pad allows you to search while driving. Lexus has NO walk away auto lock. Lexus remotes aren’t programmed to driver 1, 2, 3. Acura remotes are tagged to the memory. Lexus has this attitude that their cars are better than the competition. They’re good, but not worth the money after owning one. Great marketing though. On second thought, maybe we should have gone with the RDX. No joke. If you had the Acura layout for 2 weeks, you’d grow to love its design inside as you’d spare dynamic mode placement. You can’t appreciate it after a short period of time.

I started watching you both a short while back to help me decide on a new car, now I watch for fun and entertainment. Plus I also want to see Andrea's outfits! Will they match the car or not? Cheers from Vancouver Island 🍺

I love you guys! I love the way you add sense of humor to your presentation. I am on the fence since they changed the Gear shift and made it digital. I refuse to buy any car with this new push button shifters…
Anyway which one will you recommend the regular or the performance model? Is the performance model worth the extra cost?

I have always drove Honda’s. I’m getting my first Acura MDX next week and I actually like the track pad better than Hondas touch screen.

Acura isn't available here in Europe. Pity, because the MDX is a nice-looking car. Another great video from you guys.
