Everyone is expecting answers from this man, but he has lost his reality. Everything he knows has been turned upside-down. I used to get angry at the family, but in most cases they were doing their best with the information and resources they had. Let this man process what has happened. He doesn't deserve a borage of hate and harassment unless he actually did something wrong.

respect for this man for not hiding in his house but openly and honestly talking with a reporter. What a courage.
and please lets include this man in our sympathy because he is also a victim who lost his wife. And all just because he was so kind enough to take care of his troubled grandson.

This is an old school type gentleman, he doesn't understand youth, and he clearly was trying to do right with his grandson by instilling a work-ethic (taking him to work, allowing him to live in their home b/c of the problems the shooter had with his mother). He tried. His methods may be more traditional. His life experience simply didn't equip him to handle a troubled youth with the type of social media in this modern world. He has nothing to hide, so he is upfront with the cameras. Doesn't shy away. He looks to be in shock and, as he said, reality hasn't sunk in yet.

It's not this old man fault that his grandson committed this horrible crime, as a grandma of two boys I honestly feel sorry for them I hope the wife get better. Sorry to all of the families that lost they love ones RIP little angels 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

Everything comes from the root, the home, the parents. This man clearly is a hard worker, even took responsibility from his own daughter in raising her child. Horrible! There is obviously a big generational gap where he probably couldn't find a common language with his grandson but he is not to be blamed for the grandson's issues. Praying for all the angels! RIP!

The fact that anyone is blaming this man and his wife but didn’t say the same for the murderer in Buffalo parents is insane where is his parents as well they haven’t released any type of statements to the families at all .. this is terrible kids and the teachers 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽

He’s being 100% real. Aww poor guy. I’m so sad for him and devastated for the parents of the lost children as a mom of a one year old this makes me insanely angry and disturbed to what my son will face one day.. the simple ability that someone has to come and wreck your life forever is so unfair.

This is the grandfather, maybe a widow, he said he was unaware of what his grandson was doing, probably because the grandfather is still and still trying to provide for his family. And once that kid turned 18 it is extremely difficult to force him to do anything. Like he said "kids think they know everything." Thank you for having the courage to speak out, my condolences.

Man is lost and confused as too the reasons behind this act and still stood there and answered questions that no parent or grand parent ever wishes too experience. I feel sorry for this man. He doesn't have any answers as to why this shooting happened. He should be left alone. He's clearly as confused as the rest of us are. People always look to the family for answers, but sometimes there is no answer, and blaming this man won't make things better.
