Hi everybody and welcome to Niš Serbia. In this Serbia travel video I'm going to take you through this beautiful city in Europe which still not on major tourist maps. Niš (Ниш in cyrillic) is a pretty town in Southeastern Europe and is located in the South of Serbia, or Србија as the Serbs call it, and is a very historical place in Europe. It's one of the best places in Serbia for authentic local Serbian food and one of the most beautiful places in Serbia, surrounded by green hills which provide some amazing views across the city. What I like best in Serbia is that there is so much to discover wherever you go in this beautiful country in Europe. This trip was my first time in Serbia and I learned so much about the rich and often difficult and complex history of Serbia. Niš is a great city to visit if you want to get history in Southeastern Europe, although some of the sites are shocking, and very thought-provoking as you will see in this video. I hope this Serbia video on Niš will give you some inspiration if you plan your next travel to beautiful Serbia. As I have mentioned in my previous videos on Serbia, Serbia is one of the more affordable countries in Europe. So if you're interested in cities to see in Europe that are affordable places to visit Niš is a perfect place to visit in Europe. I will take you on a tour through my top 10 of the best things to do in the city, with a visit to the old fortress, a tower made of real human skulls, a Nazi concentration camp that feels like it was abandoned just yesterday and an impressive great Second World War memorial. And of course we will talk about Serbian food.

Congratulations on how much you studied, learned and tried to understand places you visit, in this instance Nis.
For adventurers, I also recommend to follow Nishava river down to its' source, down to Pirot and Danilovgrad, where you don't get in taverns "here is our menu", but "here is what we have today" :) Untouched beautiful nature and raw mentality you get for free :P

Very nice video. I don't want to torpedo your video, but now I'm looking at a video from Wroclaw, Poland (I never was there): impressive, uau ! The city inhabited by dwarfs ! It remembers me about the Lord of the Rings. There are so many dwarf statues across the city. Very medieval city, very good looking, like you would be in Germany. Carriages with really big black horses.

Definitely the historical and culinary capital of Serbia. One of the oldest cities in Europe, where the Roman emperor Constantine the Great was born. Great choice for restaurants, NISLIJSKA MEHANA, STAMBOLIJSKI. Great friend, i hope you enjoy the magic of beautiful Nis again. 😊🖒👑🍞🍖🍰🍷🍷

Hi Janus,
I really appreciate you making these videos because they are so helpful for aspiring travelers like myself. I am watching all your videos of Serbia since I am visiting on 1st July for 1 week. I watched your videos to plan my trip around Belgrade, Novi Sad, and Subotica. Waiting for your videos of Southern and South-western/eastern Serbia, especially Zlatibor, Kopaonik, Nis, and Golubac. Will you be uploading them soon? If not could you please let me know the good places to visit if you have already done so? I would really appreciate your help so that I can plan this trip for my family.
Thank you so much and keep up the good work!

There is part of the city usually unknown to tourists, and that is Bulevar Nemanjica or St Sava Park (and now there is a new park under construction). So, if you are coming to Nis, visit St Sava Park :)
