Hey, nice first video! I will say, when it comes to shaders, it's actually redundant to pass the texture into the Emission shader, you can just plug it in directly into the mix shader node. Funnily enough image textures can work as their own shader, and can be manipulated the same way with mix or add shader nodes. I figured this out along time ago but I still see people doing, figured it could save you a little bit of time :)

Yo, those are real cute and simple designs with a very pleasant pastel palette. They 2000s aesthetic is very apparent, and I like how you render them at low resolution. Thanks for going the extra bit to give links to all the games and artists you mentioned. I'm getting into the low poly crowd and getting inspiration!

Hey hey, I loved watching this, the characters are so cute! I started learning Blender about 3 weeks ago and I just switched over from the Donut tutorial to Grant Abbit and when I got to 16:15 all I could think was "YES! I made the right decision!"
Me and some friends have made a discord group for being creative and a few of us are all starting to learn Blender so watching videos like yours has been super helpful! Keep up the great work <3

Learned graphic design in school and am jumping into learning blender. Have already worked on some basic tutorial projects (shied away from the donut lol). I'm loving the low poly fun, learning 256 fes work as recommended by a friend, stumbled upon your cute vid before I dive and I wanted to say ✨ THANKS ✨ for nice timelapse commentary vid ~

I’ve been looking into low poly, cute, colorful designs in 3D, this is the best tutorial/process video I’ve seen! Amazing job Abbey!

Great video! Your thoughts on the process are super interesting! Also your style is really unique. I get a cosy lofi nintendo vibe 🙌 love it!
It's always awesome to have a new face in the lowpoly-Youtube sphere, can't wait for more :D

ive just actually started blender modeling ive done like one animation with mecabricks and ive started to make a whole bunch others that i didnt finish but i just actually started to model in blender and i feel im not terrible at it for this much of a beginner! I am currently in a 3d modeling and animation class where we use maya and i was pleasantly suprised to see I carried over a solid amount of knowledge from there to blender. im having a lot of fun and seeing stuff like this is cool!

Thanks for making this video!

I feel motivated to try and make a character and a 3d model inspired by this video, I'm glad I bumped into this.

This is very nice these kind of timelapses are great and the commentary is fantastic and makes the video enjoyable and makes it go beyond just a simple learning resource.

More please! I loved this video! I'd love to see more even-lower-poly aesthetic, with less subdivision modifiers etc, kinda like the "#256fes" hashtag going around, but i subbed for whatever cute content like this 😇 your character designs are so wholesome... Really had that a short hike vibe

It's cool to see some of your low poly shape making. Watching it like "I used solidify for that too!"

I love how at the beginning of the shoes it looks like a bendy straw lol
Thank you for the video! I don't understand what is happening on a technical level (yet lol) but they are very cute!

I read in the comments that you did the blue stroke on compositing, could you elaborate more on how to do that bc it’s so cute!

Splendid work, I quite like the end result you came up with and how stylized it looks.

Very well done, I liked the video.
I haven't been practicing much lately with blender, but one day I want to create my "minis" in 3D and create a little game with them.

This video is very interesting to me, since I have a heavy interest in doing 3d art models of my dog characters. Multiple times I tried to learn blender, but alot of the time I loose motivation.. it's very hard to learn blender for someone who is brand new. How long have you been making 3d models for?
- also where do you recommend starting blender low poly modeling? I kinda really dislike the donut tutorial because the guy in it is incredibly uninspiring. I personally tried using the froggy tutorial and that was a bit easier for me, but it's hard to find regular dog modeling tutorials other than timelapses

You've earned a sub!
