This Doctor's name is EBEN ALEXANDER and he became a believer after he suffered an ANEURYSM and experienced an N.D.E ( Near Death Experience ) in which he was saw the other side, Heaven, Angels and God when he had been previously blowing off other people's N.D.E's ( his patients who momentarily died during surgery ) and were telling him their own stories of meeting God and deceased loved one's. As Eben is actually a TOP well respected NEUROSURGEON who used to think his own patients were just suffering hallucinations caused by the brain shutting down - or getting lack of oxygen during surgery. So when Eben suffered an ANEURYSM an experienced his own N.D.E he was completely changed and now a firm believer. A Near Death Experience is when someone experiences actual clinical death for a period of time and then is brought back by either resuscitation, medical intervention or other to tell their tale. An N.D.E is not what some people might think - like it's just a close brush with death where a bus just misses them when crossing a road or something. It's when you have actually died - and saw the other side including deceased loved ones, heaven or hell, angels and God.

I was born to missionary parents and grew up in a christian home. My father is an ordained pastor. I went to school at a private Christian school for 11 years which is over $10, 000 a year per student. I was forced to believe what my parents believed. I never felt like I belonged in this situation. I have always questioned these beliefs. The reasons why you ask? I was born with a congenital anomaly in my spinal column and spinal cord. I had major spinal surgery in 2012 and I was told that I would eventually lose the ability to walk and this process has already begun. It is incredibly and severely painful. Imagine the worst dead leg pins and needles and times that by 1000. What about kids getting cancer, or kids being trafficked? What about women being trafficked? Why would a supreme being allow this to happen simply because someone sinned at the beginning of it all? C'mon... So please tell me how these situations are an "act of god" or the completely ridiculous "god works in mysterious ways" excuse. I wasn't even born yet when this affliction occurred. Plus, I have many other questions. What about the dinosaurs? When did they exist? What about all the people who existed before jesus? The North American Indians? The Central American inhabitants, South American inhabitants? The Chinese, The Japanese? The India inhabitants? What about all those same people after jesus? What about the massive contradictions in the bible? What about the 14 books of the bible that were removed by King James and the catholic church? I'm sorry but a single scientist converting from an atheist to a believer in a creator is extremely far from proof of a creator. Who created the creator? I ask everyone, believers and non-believers do your research and keep an open mind. Brainwashing is real. Learn to think for yourself.

That... is a horrible analogy. Here is a better one:

Imagine you have a box of legos that you shake 100 times per second. Every time you shake the box the legos completly rearange themselves inside the box. Now, certain pieces will be in the right place to attach to each other. Now, shake that box for a billion years. Eventuality, certain pieces find themselves at the right place and time to assemble tiny structures. You get a toy duck here, a mini car there, etc. This continues for several million years. Then, one day, a bunch of mechanical pieces happened to be in the right place and right time, and connect together to form a simple mechanism with a claw. This claw can only stick to other mechanical pieces. Once the claw finds a bunch of mechanical pieces, the mechanism will use the claw to assemble another mechanism, albeit with slight differences.

Over time, as these mechanisms create more mechanisms, the small differences add up. The mechanisms that assemble other mechanisms faster out-reproduce the competition. This leads to an arm race on which mechanism can reproduce the fastest. This arms-race is called "survival of the fittest".

Over incomprehensibly long time frames, these minor improvements add up. Eventually, we get mechanisms that are so advanced and good at reproduction that they are capable of understanding and responding to their environment in dynamic ways. They can understand the needs of different parts of themselves. They can process information and apply logic to situations. But most importantly, they are complex enough to understand their existence. We experience this self-awareness as consciousness.
