I used to have a 90 lb male Chow mix who, three weeks after we got him, was attacked at his food bowl by our 17 lb male terrier. The terrier had been trying to exercise the same dominance he had previously had over the 60 lb female lab mix who had died several months earlier. The Chow picked him up, shook him several times, threw him down a flight of stairs, and was on his way to finish him off by the time I got there and stopped it. Over a dozen stitches in two places were required to close him up. I had to put a muzzle on the Chow. Within a week the terrier was picking fights again so I had to put a much smaller muzzle on him too. After that every time the terrier would start something the Chow would knock him down and lay on him. After several months an uneasy truce prevailed for the next several years unti the terrier died of old age.

Wow you had my attention with the title but I’m glad that they’re actually just playing lol. The German Shepherd is female and the Jack is a male, that’s why they didn’t have any conflict like two males or females would have.

We have a JRT/Long Haired Chihuahua mix. She looks like a 12lb platinum blonde stuffed animal.. but, man.. she is the BOSS. We have 3 Pit Bulls ranging from 50lbs-90lbs & she absolutely commands the respect of all of them.

The Pits will occasionally disrespect each other, or fuss over rank amongst themselves.. but never with Tootie. They try to eat each others food occasionally, but never hers. It's funny how big her energy is. She absolutely runs them. It's so interesting to see. Granted, she's an absolute shithead. But, we love her.

The only creatures that give her hell are our cats. She cats!! She tries to play & they'll chase each other back n forth. But she's still SO respectful of them bc she knows they're more than willing to beat her ass. It's so funny!
